Yeah that flaming ball was pretty epic for a tv show. When which pretty much kill whoever is hit with it. I dont think that Praetor is coming back after that hit to the face.

It will be interesting when the slave army reaches 70,000 men and later when Crixus leads half the men north and fights a major battle.

How many men does Spartacus have now, or suppose to? It looked like a hundred or little more.

I don't think he was hit directly in the face, that was a different guy, though you see him with his face badly burnt. Obviously some people heal better because, it's a TV show. Half the wounds suffered by Crixus/Spartacus/Oenomaus would have killed a man in those days, even Glabers arrow in the shoulder in the last episode would have most likely killed him... I still expect that Praetor to live..

Roughly that. I liked the addition of the old granny, so far all the slaves have all looked young and capable of fighting, it was nice to see someone who looked out of place..

We're nearing the end of the season and it doesn't look like Andy's absence has had that great an impact on the show's entertainment value. I would wager on it becoming even more popular in the coming future.

I believe the historical numbers were little over 70 gladiators after the escape up to the battle of mt. Vesuvius.

The numbers they have now are probably pretty accurate. It's just the numbers they have on the side of the Roman's seem a little undersized, but that's probably cause of a lack of equipment and extras (in other words, stretched budget). Once the numbers get larger it will be more difficult because of the way the show is filmed, I think.

Gotta say so far I though the numbers of romans quite believable, I keep being surprised they kill that many romans without losing a single guy or 1 at the most

Luckily it wasn't the oddest sexual event of the show...

Just saw the latest episode. Man this show is amazing. Its also surprisingly historical. I think that is the first time ever I've seen pre-martian legionaries looking like pre-martian legionaries and the absolute first time ive seen them using pillums.

This show have continued to impress me since the first five episodes wrapped, its just great TV for us that like Action, Girls and History.

    Yeah its a good episode.

I didnt see any alien invaders from Mars in it though.

That doesn't mean they weren't there.

Historically the forces that attacked Spartacus at Vesuvius would've been composed of militia or token garrison forces. These are not the battle hardened legions of Crassus. So it doesn't really bother me that much that especially when you see that Spartacus' forces never play to the Roman's strength by attacking when the Romans are in formation.

Well, they have done better in the second season than in the first when it comes to historical accuracy of roman equipment of the time. I suspect a bigger budget allowed them to make their own rather than recycle armor.

Yup, those Romans really need to go back to the ol' drawing board.

That gladiator guy of Ashur's (can't remember the name!) is pretty damn badass! Last week he was walking towards the old guy of the temple, taking multiple arrows before killing him, this week he stabbed Oenomaus eye out through his own hand. That was pretty awesome!

Can't wait for next week's episode now

As far as I know he's only known as "The Egyptian" but I could be wrong.

Peter Mensah (Oenomaus) was the guy that got kicked down the well in 300. Amazed I didn't know that.
