I must have not paid attention to last week's episode when Ashur raped Lucretia, but why is she sleeping with him again?

Because she would get raped anyway if he told Glaber about the prophecy scam.

I tried watching Spartacus from the start. I couldn't continue to watch it after I saw the idiotic effects.

Officially she wanted to reprise her role in CSI:NY and have parts in broadcast pilots but unofficially her Manager asked for a pay rise that Starz could not match. Pity as I haven't really warmed to the new one.

First three episodes are pretty bad. What its great with the show is that it keeps improving every episode. But the effects are meant to be over the top, it don't take itself too seriously.

Watch the first six episodes and you'll get hooked. its one of the most entertaining shows on TV these days

    It's what Mr. Plinkett calls a "G u I lTy P l Ea s Ur e ..."
"Sebaceans once had a god called Djancaz-Bru. Six worlds prayed to her. They built her temples, conquered planets. And yet one day she rose up and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

They were a bit over the top in the first few episodes, but calmed down a bit and now are getting rather good. There's still the odd frame glitch on the big gore scenes where it's been added in post production, but I noticed in this series they've mixed in a lot more real time effects which look way better.

well the first episode of blood of sand is meh. But gets alot better over time and the next episodes
the sex scenes remember caligula for certain, and the blood and gore is over the top, i do think this are part of the charm, but i dont necessarly like then much, i mean is a bit vulgar, if the show hadnt that interesting dialogues and plot story it would be realy bad. But the show had me suprised quite alot.
My point is you watch walking dead and like it, i dont see why you wouldnt like spartacus series, has they are much better regarding story plot and much well writen with plots and characters that make sense. IMO
Like i said the visual effects and the sex scenes and mild language might be over the top and vulgar, but given time you will see that the dialogues are good, and the rest is part of ther charm of the show imo. and they improved alot of things this season including the visual effects if im not mistaken.
This show over the seasons have improved over time and had me suprised.

Julius Caesar and Marcus Crassus will be played by Todd Lasance and Simon Merrells next season, according to the show's FB page.

Really? It's not a litte early for those two?I mean we still have to see the battles against the praetors.

That could occur this season, and if they don't, we could possibly see them (Caesar and Crassus) as recurring characters rather than main next season as the praetors do battle.

So they did cast Caesar. Thats both exiting and worrying considering he was largely irrelevant to the uprising. Being a mere advocate in Rome at the time. I'd rather see Pompey cast as he was involved.
