Yes,you can. But I doubt its feasibility.
Clan Long has 3 or 4 teams enter semi-final in last CWC. IMO they also can enter final if they only send 1 team.

Unless Aggony have some insider info on when the patch is going to be release, you gents have surprisingly good faith that CA will be releasing the patch within

    .....this year

I think if the Girlscouts of America sent four teams to the semifinals of TW tournament, then it's safe to say that even Girlscouts of America will surely enter the finals too, and I'll tell you more, Cav Jack, they will definitely win that tournament too!!! God, your logic is so awesome!

After a brief lull in these final days of Shogun 2, we are now witnessing yet another 1v1 tournament, and this one is of massive proportions.

Aggony 1v1 Championship (A1C as it is known) features an impressive line up of players from almost every single clan that has been a member of our MP community. It would literally take hours to name all the clans that have sent forth their champions. All of it in an effort to claim the valiant title – the best among his peers. At this point, A1C features a roster of players of all calibers… And to win, a player must last through 7 rounds, and while you may not face the top players every single round, you can certainly claim something of an accomplishment at the end of it all - to beat seven opponents in one tournament is a deed worthy of recognition and one which should accord the victor the fame he/she so rightfully deserves.

At this stage the match ups are drawn and first blood has indeed already been spilled. Who will win it all? It’s anyone’s guess… This tournament is bristled with stars such as Harba, Rip, Darkmind, Luvmo, Kinjo, Amp and many many others. As each of those individuals eyes his opponent, we will take a measure of adjustment that they each make to the recently released patch and watch for incredible amount of battlefield creativity that we are bound to see.

In addition to all this, A1C was able to gather a team of great commentators into its Casting team, which expands on the practice of earlier tournaments to showcase matches live. A1C is taking it to a whole new level with a variety of commentators attempting to bring to you as many live battles as possible. So if you love TW and wish to see great players compete, watch for updates on live events and be there to witness history!!!

And of course, the prize!!! While not every effort would be rewarded with material gain, the determination, creativity and skill of at least two players certainly will. So if your presence is not about ‘claim of fame’, then be sure that your efforts after six rounds will definitely have a ‘ring’ to it. J

So take a seat, strap on your seat belt and let A1C take you to a whole new level of TW competition.

Any improvement on past tournaments is a worthy deed in the annals of TW and this tournament certain is.

    Thanks, man

Rip is from Craftsmen of War clan... He won quite a few tournaments in Napo. Darkmind is former member of BiA clan, now OMERTA. Both are highly ranked and very experienced Shogun players.

And now on to the quick recap of the first two matches!

As A1C took off on December 5th, the sea of samurais didn't wait long to spill their blood on the battlefields of TW. And as shocking as it may sound, there is not a single series of games out there that allows gamers to shed so much blood on our battle screens as Total War. The stars of Shogun didn't make us wait too long to paint those screens completely red, not only with their skills and ingenuity, but also with the latest Blood Pack.

Traffic signs are very straight forward... One means stop, one means go - red and green accordingly. The third one usually instructs you to try to slow down, and warns you of danger - that color is unmistakable. This sign should be taken seriously; as if it isn't then you are usually walking into a whole lot of hurting. Strangely it applies occasionally to TW as well. Whether Ecuyer paid attention to all the signs or simply ignored them, he ran smack past this warning and into the welcome arms of the "infected" yari ashigarus. The Virus clan member, Yellow, was able to defeat him twice, in a quick succession since both players wasted no time on formalities and got down to business in a hurry. Two quick wins later and more than three thousand of poor virtual Japanese soldiers dead, Yellow advanced to the second round. The lesson of the battle? Respect the peasants armed with "yari" - patch or no patch!!!

Have you ever wondered what would happen if Xenophon commanded an army of samurais on his famous march across the Persian heartland, fighting a rear guard action all the way home? You guessed right - we will never know. The next best thing of course is watching another Greek, although far less famous, attempt the trick on the battlefield of TW. Zarganis took a whole lot of pain and suffering and brought it directly to Shardana. Although he lost the first battle, Shardana was doing pretty good at first. While both generals pulled their fancy chairs and enjoyed the massacre unfolding before them, Zarganis' hidden surprise in the form of Wako Raiders rushing from the right flank downhill definitely didn't figure into Shardana's master plan of advancing into the next round. Massacring their way down through three of Shardana's units, they finally made it all the way to Shardana himself, and here the valiant leader was finally slain. In the second battle, the forest became alive with all kinds of activity. Finding solace in the forest both generals again squared off using the density of the terrain to maximize the defensive ability of their units to withstand cavalry charges and flank attacks - after all it ain't easy to run through the trees. That didn't stop Zarganis, however, finding gaps and still sending his cavalry for repeated charges into the backs of Shardana's troops. That sealed Shardan's fate. Lesson of this battle -any Greek hailing from a former African themed clan, leading a host of Japanese soldiers should always be taken seriously.

however, I'm interested in knowing some things you yourself wrote in your forum (about our tourney) I like criticism if it leads to better future tourneys. We are pretty open about it, you can come tell us.
To share some thoughts about your tournament I would post it here.

It's a great tournament. I actually support every tournament and you guys have a great tournament in progress. I mean you incorporated ideas from earlier tournaments into yours and that's what it was all about. I mean TLS was pushing the envelope with Live Streams and Commentaries and we hoped that a bigger and open tournament would take it further. You guys did just that. It was incredible the amount of commentaries and live streaming the guys conducted. In terms of organization as well - great job - it looked at times that you would not be able to handle the pressure of the sheer mass but you guys were able to do it just fine.

As far as conflict resolution... It kind of looked bad at first with Pariya's incident because I quite honestly agree with him as he had full right to avoid live streaming and it's irrelevant whether someone liked/disliked his reason(s). And then the game with Tah... Truth be told, however, I like the way Duck handled it, and he was on top of things and not budging to the pressure by a couple of irrelevant posters. The issue was addressed and apologies were accepted. So in that one instance, at least my faith in the tournament was restored. By the way, I am thankful for those who were watching who stood up for Tah and posted their comments... I am also thankful to tournament staff for quick response and apology.

As to the rules, I know it went through a stage or stages, though I have not kept up with those. Unlike others, I am one of the few people who doesn't argue with rules - we have plenty of those here as it is. We always have a choice to NOT play if we don't like them. And this is precisely why I didn't mention anything at the time of the match, but frankly, I am ok with all the rules you have created, except for that renaming rule. The reason is simple - it doesn't make sense to penalize players for renaming units to another unit. It's all in the art of war. Actually the game with Alek was a perfect example... Alek would have lost whether that unit was named Light Cavalry or Naginata Warrior Monk Cavalry, so to allow him replay the game due to this alone was rather cheesy. After all, you didn't disallow hiding units, did you? Why? Isn't hiding using serves the same purpose... to deceive? I understand that this can be a matter of opinion but deception is a strategy long used in war and this is a wargame we are playing.

Commentaries... You had a great cast of commentators. Personally my favorite commentator is PointMan... and while I sometime dislike his behavior, this really has no impact on the way i enjoy his commentary. Others make commentaries more personal out of spite or arrogance, and one suggestion I have is to monitor them more closely. There are always people who enjoy trolling - however, they are a minority. Twelve people joined and left that chat in the spam of 30 mins at one time and I think they did it because the chat was clogged with a few roaming idiots who were allowed to troll. Imagine watching a match of soccer and having either broadcaster bash one team (if they team broke no rules but simply played a different style) or if a bunch of illiterate guys kept yelling insults?

Other then these things I think you guys have done an outstanding job expanding a tournament experience in TW that has been established by CWB, CWC and TLS tournaments in creating your own unique brand of fun. And that in itself is an amazing contribution to TW community in general, so real kudos for you and the staff of A1C.

Sorry for long post, but I assumed that you were genuinely looking for a feedback about the tournament. If you were then you would accept this as my opinion, even if you don't agree with it. If you weren't then my apologies for wasting both of our times'.

Best wishes with the rest of of the tournament.

    Anti
