How To Make a Campagn Map For Empire Total War? I would like to try it, can someone help me out, and is it possible?

Its not possible im afraid.

It is possible, you just can't use it once you've made it. The units won't path correctly, or at all, and custom settlements throw a CTD out every time you click on them. Looks pretty though.

Does that essentially mean that any sort of modding in the game is impossible for making proper mods like a American Civil War or Opium Wars or South American campaigns and will never ever be available ever at all ever?

It is impossible now. That does not necessarily mean that it won't be possible in the future. Whatever the case, new maps/regions are a long way off.

(Note though that the American Civil War mod already has a perfectly decent campaign with the standard map)

Everyone who wants to support the good cause of campaign map modding should take a look into the Empire Total War
Tools, Tutorials and Resources section. There you can find a thread named "Guide to the ETW map". It contains
very much everything that is to this date known about the campaign map. The chaps who try to find out on
how to mod ETW´s Campaingn Map communicate new findings and also try to coordinate their efforts predominantly there.
Unfortunately CA does not assist them in even the slightest way on this matter.
Some sort of documentation from their side would be very reasonable and cost almost nothing.
Please help our modding heroes in any way if you can. They need more manpower.
