With the 3D map mod i had a horrible issue of not being able to load Solitude, the load screen would never end. Then when i teleported to the middle of skyrim, there were massive errors, LOD went crazy, chunks failed to load properly, the map had massive gaps in it etc.

Apparently there is a fix for it, by taking out some lines, but i cant really be bothered to find out. As cool as it was, it wasnt very useful.

    ^Thanks a lot Hellhound1

That's shame that the 3D map mod introduces some bad issues, hopefully the mod will get fixed and updated so that it works flawlessly - I'll wait for that to happen before I try it.

Any plans to make a skyrim map mod more close to what Oblivion had?

    Why would you want that?

Because im not a fan of the 3d map

Its not like the modders would have to start from scratch anyways, just take the existing map and rewire the locations to fit on it.

Do you also think that your Dragon Heavy Armor looks ugly?

    Dragon Armor Retextures

My only mod thus far. Just because this annoyed me the most

The map is nice, a bit of an extravagance, but nice.

Well its all a matter of preferance

I made a request over at the nexus http://www.thenexusforums.com/index....3#entry3828853

So far one reply, he seems to know what hes talking about

Shouldn't be too hard once the creation set is released I wouldn't think, since there is already a mod that allows you full control of the map camera, would just need to place a high res map like that from oblivion, and constrain the camera to viewing that. It may need to be placed high in the sky (or deep underground with some way to mirror it) for this to work though. (to make all the locations align on the 2D map, since they shouldn't be changed as NPCs use these same markers for navigation when traveling IE guards traveling to riverwood)

The main reason I would want something like this is so that the roads are visible, which is my main issue with the map as present, and that could be remedied by LOD adjustments, or overlays, think google maps in satellite view. My only concern is since the map view is the world as is, that any such changes would be visible in the normal game, and some way would have to be come up with to overcome this. (IE a script to enable and disable the object when the game is not in the map view, if scripting engine has the capability to detect variables such as this I do not know, and since the game is paused when you do so, I doubt it is, but if not I'm sure a script extender would allow it.)

What it comes down to is how the game assigns resources for the Skymap more than anything else, while there are aesthetic matters to be attended to the issue isn't so much aesthetic as it is mechanical. If the Skymap is hardcoded for some features (which it might be) then you'll have a hard time doing much with it, that said TES modders are rabid. Once an idea has been seized upon nothing will stop them.

I'm currently working on overhauling a lot of Thieves Guild quests, can't do much beyond just use the NVSD to design framework scripts but it gets me thinking, with the intention of clearing up what bugs there are and making the quests reflect the ethos of the actual thieves guild, instead of the sell-out horse manure they shovelled into Skyrim to appease the "gansta" crowd.

Also overhauling crafting, making both Alchemy/Smithing/Enchanting more diverse/balanced.

Make sure that the sub directories are placed into the correct folders, ie. textures in textures, etc. Also make sure that you have enabled the data file in the Skyrim launcher.

Also, I'd like to recommend 'Interface Hard Coded Key Tweaks'
    http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=88

The modification enables you to utilise your remapped keys instead of having to use the default ones, make the interface easier to navigate.

Hmm weird I just downloaded the better performance mod to see how well it did and now when I go to options in the skyrim launcher it shows my graphics adapter as a NVIDIA 8800 GS instead of my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series
