So... I downloaded new PFM, and doesn't working - when I open ANY "patch.pack" / or ANY mod, all files from "db" category are RED - can't opened it.

    Solution?

Did you select the correct game? (although some files should always be able to be opened...)
Did you try to clicking a file even though it's red? (could be a display problem only)

Do you have the schema_ETW, schema_NTW, schema_STW.xml file in your startup directory?
    Tools: MMS 1.3 - PFM 2.4.1 - EditSF 1.0.7

Minor TW Tools: Savegame Autobackup, RandomSeedChanger, Replay Browser, Preference Editor
My mods: Extended Camera - No Handicap on Normal - Add occupation resistance to AI - FotS Defenses Rebalance
If you're artistically inclined, I could do with some icons for my mods and tools....

Hopefully I'll get around to posting vids in my YouTube channel at one time.

STW, all schema in startup directory.

!! "Fixed" !! When I try to open any .pack, directly using "double click" on file , then it's "red error"
But, when I opened like this - Start PackFileManager.exe "File" < "Open" < .pack, then all works! o.O
    Strange, or it's normal?

    // Important that it works

Oh, you tried doubleclick. Yes that seems to be broken

Yeah, I still use tabs even in csv files; but in OO, you can just select another separator char in the Open dialog and it will open fine.
Doesn't work for me even in OO, will try again.

    Edit where, in PFM?
The first three lines (table name, version number, column headers) are needed for the import; they'll be ignored when importing. Don't delete them in your spreadsheet or you'll lose your first actual lines.
No in OO or excel. Ye sthe first three lines is what i am talking about....when importing they are not ignored. When i import them i get an error and the hex decoder shows the first 3 lines at the start....previously the first 3 lines do not appear in the hex decoder before exporting.

Select the row (by clicking the header column) and press "Delete".

    Just downloaded 2.3.1 Works fine.
    Found a bug.
If you use the "Db Descriptions" update", it will cause the same problem that Legoras had. everything is red, and you cannot view anything. So pretty much... dont update!

Uploaded version 2.3.2 which should fix most reported problems AFAICT.

    - Added pfm.exe, a simple command-line packer/unpacker
    - Row numbers now starting at 1
    Bugs:
    - Doubleclick pack to open fixed
    - Corrected references when loading all game files
    - Corrected tsv export extension if none set
    - Corrected tsv import
    - Refreshing tree view upon DB schema update
    - Corrected DB schema always updating
    Tools: MMS 1.3 - PFM 2.4.1 - EditSF 1.0.7

Minor TW Tools: Savegame Autobackup, RandomSeedChanger, Replay Browser, Preference Editor

I'm encountering some sort of problem. I switch PFM to the game which I want to edit, then I extract DB folder from the files patch6.pack (ntw) and patch5.pack (etw), I create new mod, insert extracted DB directory and save it without any changes. When I try to launch game with my mod I always have CTD with both games. But downloaded mods from twcenter work properly. I can edit any mod with PFM but unable to make my own mod. Am I missing something?

    Daniu

    Great tool+Rep

However the import tsv function doesn't seem to work

    1. I've extracted db/units table from patch23
    2. Created new mod file
    3. Imported the db/units table that was extracted
    4. Exported the table to .tsv
    5. Edited the .tsv file and saved (tried both MS Excel 2010 and Notepad++)
    6. Imported the .tsv again after edit, however PFM 2.3.2 doesn't import the tsv file

I hope you can solve the problem or correct me if I do something wrong?

    Thanks

Sorry, I don't have Excel... import works for me when editing with open office (it uses a slightly different tsv format).
Could you upload your edited file so I can try it out?

The edited tsv file is attached, I noticed it decreased in size when saved, using Excel, from 150Kbytes to 119Kbytes and each entry changed from "*.*" to just *.*

I will try open office tomorrow, thank you

Yes, leading and training "s are removed (that is the difference between Excel and OO, IIUC OO will wrap "s around each item so I have to remove them.
If OO doesn't work, try entering '\"' for the ".

I will try, the only peculiar thing is that the older and less complex PFM (developed for NTW+ETW) by LtChampers and Erasmus777 had no problem importing tsv files

Edit: It works in OO with .csv file edit and then import to mod file.

Thank you for all your hard work on this tool sir. I am, however, having difficulty with the Install and Uninstall mod features. When I attempt to load my mod I get this:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Apologies in advance if I have missed something. The mod itself works flawlessly.

Peculiar, but not surprising; the previous code had other problems so I replaced it.
The removal of leading/trailing "s I introduced bulk import/export - I wouldn't have been able to test it at all otherwise, because I don't have Excel.

    Yes it should.

You don't have the game open by any chance? Then it will have the mod loaded and locked so PFM can't overwrite it.
If not, I'll take a look at it when I have the time.

No sir. I checked my processes to see if something might be conflicting and nothing obvious stuck out. Turned off Steam/AVG.....I'm running Vista 64 if that matters. It's an awesome feature if you can get it working. If not I'm still incredibly grateful for the phenomenal work you've done.
