    @Daniu
I rechecked and changed some beta battle_entities values which these created this bug... strangely. Now the formations are enabled again... very strange. You can check if it works but it was possibly a false alarm of my side. Thank you for looking into this.

Yes thank you Darth Vader, I have already looked through that walk-through before was pretty helpful, though I seem to keep getting something wrong now. What I would like to know from you! ~ is If I should Just use PFM For Making Units/ changing info for building_unit_allowed, cdr_unit_qualities_, uniforms, units, unit_stats_land, etc~, since most walk-through i found are for PFM instead of TWeak, since there are afew big differences i have found in doing stuff in them... lol. would love too know what you think. also when i make uniform from TWeak unit editor should leave the file where it is or should i move it into data, like you do with BullGods Daimyo skin mods so they wont get mixed up with other units? (:

I haven't used PFM in over a year, so I'm sure a lot has changed. But I remember you had drop down menus for stuff. An example was in the db>building_units_allowed table. It would give you a drop down menu for each building type in the game. I can't tell you how extremely useful this was. Any way of getting it to work on the latest stuff?

I have the old Pack File Manager v1.7.9, the one that actually installs and uses the Shogun 2 start icon. When using v1.7.9, the latest pack that offers the drop down menus was patch14.pack. I don't see any of that in the newer version.

Down below is a copy of the version I'm talking about.

    FYI:
I just uploaded a new schema with a small update to unit_stats_land; "Unused 98" is actually "musician 2" and an optstring instead of a boolean.
Also removed a lot of schema definitions which only occurred in the obsolete patchXX.pack files.

    Hi

I have tried to add a new unit class to my NTW mod to have a finer control ont he name of the regiments.
This is defined in the startpos, where you can add for each faction a list of regiment names, each linked to a class ID (ex: for classeID 0, Fixed_Artillery, you can have the name "battery 1", "battery 2", etc).
The problme is when I add a new class, it's the 23rd class (since there are already 22). And if I try to add a new list of names to the startpos, with index 23, then a new unit of this class would be named... "battery 1". So it seems any new class is considered to have index 0.
I tried to change the order of the classes in the unit_class table, but it changes nothing to the unit names, it seems the index is not equivalent to the order of the class in the list.

So question: from your experience with the tables, do you have an idea of where the index of a class could actually be located? Or is it hardcoded?

Now I have to delete "groupformation.bin", select the rout file structure, add file, select my new "groupformation.bin" and then it is placed correctly... I think.
Deleting the file, then adding it again is a hassle indeed.
But I just looked into it, and the "Replace File" function seems to work fine for me...
Select the file you want to replace, choose "Files->Replace File", select the file you want it replaced with.
Am I missing something or are you doing it differently somehow?

    EDIT:
As a side note, the Replace feature does not require the file to be called the name it needs to have in the file. You can call the edited file "units_v2" in the file system, and it will be included as "units" if you choose "Replace" on the "units" entry.
You can keep the original file next to it that way for some manual version control.

Hi I have a problem with PFM : when I try to import a tsv file it does nothing and don't change the file at all, it used to work in the PFM for NTW.

    Hi,

I am trying to change some stats in NTW.
I could successfully edit the _kvs_* and battle_entities tables. My changes can be seen in NTW, perfect.

But when I am trying to change anything in the units_stats_land and units tables, NTW crashs during loading. Even when I change a "1" by the same "1" and save the file, NTW crashes too. So actually I can't alter these files at all.

I have the 2.4.1 version and checked for updates, with no results. What am I doing wrong and what should I know?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

PFM doesn't find the install directories. You'll need to install one of the games (ETW, NTW or STW) properly (i.e., via Steam).

Hello,I have the same problem. The gamedirs.txt file is linked to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war. Is this correct or is there a different directory it's supposed to link too? I'm running windows 7 32bit.

    That path doesn't sound wrong...
You do still have ETW installed, right? And you didn't move the installation to another drive or something?
So basically: does the path exist if you open it in Windows Explorer?

This PFM doesn't seem to work for S2 anymore...at least my version of the PFM 2.4.1 doesn't.
