You're welcome.

Not all motherboards for Bulldozer cpus have been sold and the BIOS updated, yet, is why I say this. Possibly, by Rome2's release, they will be.
It's not the cpu, it's the manufacturer's being sure the BIOS is updated before being shipped and sold, not necessarily done.

Put the blame where you want but the bottom line is AMD oopsed and admitted but left the fix to the Motherboard manufacturers and them to make whatever boards they list as FX compatible. Bet many of these boards were made before FX was released with AMD's promise they would take FX as is.
Besides, shougun2 release was before FX chips hit the market. AMD and their cohorts on this one.
You won't find one. did read the link in the OP and take a look at its date? This is old news. In fact, it's already eight months old since the OP was posted. An eternity in computer time.
If so, why was I still posting links to Gigabyte BIOS upgrades this month if all is well?
Bulldozer is only compatible with Shogun2 after the BIOS fix. Some may get lucky, some not. It's still a crapshoot.
If it is old news then why is it stickied front and center so that it is the very first thing you will see?
Is it your intention to make sure that everyone who is interested in this gets the WRONG information? What exactly is your goal here?
Here is a newsflash for you "tech guy": ALL CPUs will perform improperly if you use the wrong BIOS.
Today you will need a time machine to get a new AM3+ motherboard with a BIOS that is not configured for FX CPUs.
The fact is that Bulldozers run Shogun 2 just fine and keeping a thread with the current title this one has stickied up as if it were true is a complete and total farce.

I said BIOS problem, not cpu problem. AMD made it a BIOS problem.
It's stickied because too many of the old boards with old BIOS are still out there. Not everyone has updated their BIOS and many are unaware of the problem.
Now, you have not answred this question, why am I still linking Gygabyte BIOS upgrades if all is well?
I was thinking about upgrading Bulldozer but after the reviews, I'll kepp my Phenom II.
That's funny. Another victim of the anti-FX Groupthink.
Why not toss up your Shogun 2 1080p benchmark then?
I am quite familiar with Phenoms and now I am running an FX-4170, and I can tell you for sure that the FX is far and away a superior Gaming CPU. If this were not the case I can assure you that I would pull my Phenom back out of the drawer it now resides in and be using it. You can sit around and dwell on better all-math Super Pi scores with a Phenom all you want, it does not change the fact that an FX will outperform a Phenom when you click the icon for your favorite game.
I had this "Phenoms are better than FX's" discussion just yesterday over at OCN and the anti-FX guy actually tried faking Shogun 2 benchmarks. But alas he was a poor liar and an even worse Photoshopper. Faking benchmarks is the only way you are going to get a Phenom with similar GPU strength to score anywhere near what a properly tuned FX can.
My Phenom is only 3GHz and not overclocked. Won't be either. You will beat me in the Benchmarks. My ole 9800 GT is only good for dx10, anyway, and at 152mb medium is about it.
If you're happy with it, you're welcome to it. I just prefer not to get one. It's only a personal choice, not something to get in an old Ford versus Chevy argument. This is also driving the discussion of this thread off-topic.
