Please buy this game people, I promise I'll start being nicer around here if more people will play ArmAII with me.

For $25 US, you get Combined Ops (ArmAII and the amazing Operation Arrowhead expansion) and the British Armed Forces DLC, and the Private Military Company DLC.

Really hard to beat, that is a metric ton of content for $25.

Wow, one of the best Steam deals I'v seen in many many months.

If you have any passion for military games in general this should be an insta-buy for you.

Is the HFTP still active or what?

I have ARMA 2, bought it a while ago. But didnt like the clunky controls and didnt play beyond the first SP mission. But i should give it another go, too many people saying how awesome it is.

The HFTP is more less off right now. To be fair I'd give it about a month before we can get active again. Kats is getting a new PC, Mitch is getting settled and will have quality internet (finally). Hopefully we can get going again and the EU3 game will end and Poach will come back.

We have a bunch of people that are working odd times but that could change, and I personally am hoping the BF3/MW3 thing kinda dies down here in a month or so because we have a good number of people dedicating all of their gaming time to that.

So we are not dead, more of a hiatus.

Btw if you are planning on starting to play ArmA II, it is imperative that you at least pick up Operation Arrowhead to go with it. OA fixes a lot of things and improves the way it looks.

As for controls, the best advice I can give is to not get frustrated and actually play the tutorials to learn the game. It's not something you just hop into.

I will admit, i didnt give it much time with the controls, i played it right after playing operation flashpoint dragon rising, which people say have been hugely watered down from the old operation flashpoint games. So in my head i was expecting similar controls to dragon rising, and it wasent, and it got frustrating really quick.

Is operation arrowhead just a expansion, or is it a standalone game?

OA is just ARMA 2 patched well.

But OFR is a POS. Tried to play it (I bought it for $5 a long time ago, never installed) after playing some ARMA and it was just a complete joke. Welcome to the real game

So I tried playing Arma II yesterday and it gave me wierd graphical glitches and a sudden system crash. It's been crashing my computer ever since, I think I finally killed my 8800GT .
