Ok a detailed explanation on how reports work.

As I said above, when you report a post a new thread is created inside the Moderators Den in a special forum for Reports. When you enter that forum it looks something like this, note that I am only showing 2 of the current reports. One that Derpy created on request from Bolk, and one that Ishan reported because he wanted to ask me a question privately but still have other moderators able to comment.

You can see here that one is marked No Action Taken, which pretty much means it was reviewed and there is not a ToS violation that needs to be dealt with or no thread that needs to be moved. The other is not marked because I was too lazy to mark it.

And here is the report Derpy posted to test the report function. Notice that it provides a link to the thread, the name of the person that posted it, the person that reported it and his comment about the post. If someone else reports the same post, the report is added to this thread instead of creating a new thread.

Once a moderator has reviewed the post he edits the thread title to show the action that was taken.

If a note/infraction is issued, then a thread is created in another forum so that other moderators can review it. Notice it shows the points issued, what it was issued for, and who it was issued to. Gort is the account moderators practice using the modcp on.

Its actually a post created by him, so it looks like any other post he makes. It has all his profile stuff that normally shows. The only difference is that this forum does not count towards your post count.

My location does influence everything. Where would you be if I wasn't defending Saint Elmo with my Derpy appearance? Europe that's where you would be. Thus, I think I should get the respect I deserve.

That's not related to the report but the default vB skin being used by GED. Locations are shown only in the default vB skin or if it's enabled (user can't enable it) on other skin.

We're always professional here on TWC.

"Muscovy", as its rulers have previously called it, is a sleeping giant, with age-old traditions and ways of doing things. Here, the feudal way of life has become so entrenched that the serfs are as tied to the land as cattle, and with almost as few rights. It is a vast, deeply conservative and religious country: Mother Russia and the Orthodox Church are the two pillars of national belief. The Tsar may be the father of his people, but by tradition and practice he is a stern parent. Ivan the Terrible was well named, and he has not been the only ruler with an iron will. Russia is the "Third Rome". The last bastion of Orthodox Christianity.

We get hundreds of reports a day, not PMs. Though I suppose if you add all the PMs up between staff members its in the hundreds probably. I personally get 20ish PMs on a bad day, maybe more. And usually 3-4 emails from the Contact Us form.

As for the school thing, I have kids older than most of our forum users. I dont go to school much anymore.

We use what works. Businesses develope processes that saves time, which in the long run saves them money. Some of that applies to TWC even though we are not a business. The more efficient we can make something like moderation, the fewer moderators we have to manage (they are a pain believe me) and the less time they have to spend moderating, which means they can do more stuff like modding.

Time is the most valuable thing any of us has, and none of us knows when the clock is done ticking until its too late.

Gort is the impervious overlord of TWC. He rules with an iron fist and laser eyes.

I'm glad to see that the men of TWC finally understand that it is the chick who truly runs things.

I do wonder, shouldn't there be a local mod for the Warhammer 40k subforum? Or do subforums not have to have a local moderator? If so, what justifies the need for a local moderator?
