No scripted battles, just the quick battles in the main menu

Read this out, and grab the tools- it should help.

BTW the 'balance' issue, it's just my thinking- since I'm playing Gondorian!
The Gondor spear used to have 105 speed. Plus a horse, and you will punch through everything.
The speed is just lol. Straight line with 105 speed
I was just kidding about the 'balance' but what the dev said is true.

It looks good, but I hate the armour design of virtually everyone. They should just have gone with the Movies and the designs of Alan Lee and John Howe.

Oh before we get those arrogant and unpleasant fanboys screaming "There was no plate in Middle earth!"

It would have enhanced gameplay, restricting yourself to mail is pretty stupid from a game creator perspective.
It would have added more atmosphere as 90% of those who play the game have their mental image of what things should look like derived from the films. Going against that its just plain going against the stream on purpose and takes away a lot of fun and immersion for people that are not puritan nutjobs.
The design of the movies are far better than what these mod people have come up with. I’ve heard Alan Lee talking about LOTR and his art live and the guy knows both his lore and his Tolkien designs besides being an absolutely fantastic artist.

I agree with you, i don't why the devs are so strict to the lore, maybe to lazy to make a perfect armor like in the movie? i dont know, it would be much better if they followed the lore but with the looks of the movies.

I really like the designs in TLD. It's a breath of fresh air for LOTR stuff, I don't want to be seeing the same bog standard silver plate, pointy helmet Gondor soldiers in every LOTR game that exists. The elves are very different - less exotic than in the movies, but awesome and new none the less

the non plate armor doesn't bother me one bit but I do agree it would expand the horizon of customization of your character a bit further, one thing I just find ugly are the lorien helmets lol

exactly. All my troops had better equipment than me, their general. I don't care about the bonuses, but as a respected commander of Dale, I don't want to look like a freaking peasant!

For once in at least one LOTR game we don't see the same movie designs everywhere, we see excellent designs of people who are actually creative and have some fantasy. I can't see how this can be bad. The Haradrims for example are just amazing, far better that the generic Beduins we see in the movies. And no, Pasan, you are not right, 90% of people who play this mod have imagination. ANd I hope most of them read the books first, may be some of them read out in the wild in field trips, singing the Elven songs to the rain. I hope most of them are not Hollywood popcorn fanboys

    I just love this.
    Your reply and the mod.

I mean, I followed TLD, even before I seen TATW.
Going by the movie is not a big thing, but bashing others who doesn't follow the NON-LORE MOVIE is .

The Invisble rider of the Wargs is just annoying as hell.
Using Ctrl-F4 only do little damage on them- and they respwan.
Also they block every slashing attack on the side- with their invisible legs.

And no, no fief for you.

The Iron Launcher thingy doesn't work for me. Might be because I'm using Steam. I got it working by manually moving the files though.

f-keys and numbers, I can't remember which way around it is but I think the f-keys tell your troops what to do and the number keys select which troops you want to listen to those orders.

f1 = hold the position, f2= follow player, f3 = charge (dissables formation, so if you liked your troops to form a line and follow you or hold a position press charge and then hold this position immediately afterwards, then they form a straight line )
    f4 = dismount/mount, f5 = hold fire/fire at will, f6 = advance 10 steps, f7 = fall back 10

The other ones I don't remember immediately

Then if you hit like #2 you can give orders to just to infantry or #3 for just Archers and I do believe #4 is calvary(I hope I got the numbers right) And if you hit #1 then it gives orders to everyone
I KNOW MY NAME IS supposed TO BE MISPELLED
Please leave your name if you give me rep, so I can rep you back thanks
