Regrettably, no. Though I'd go for the history and not the music & mud

Gondolin, right before it's fall, I'd love to stand on the battlements/walls as one of the defenders watching the armies of Angband pour into the valley of Tumladen....

    Good idea actually.

But I've a better one: I'd go to Avallone where the Masterstone of the palantíri is located. And with this one, you can look even back into the past...

I'm a student, you know, always short of time and money.
I would rather have a memory that is fair but unfinished than one that goes on to a grievous end.

Only one in the Middle– earth? So Valinor doesn’t count (and it is like I mention some continent or the world). Difficult choice. I’d say Rivendell would be nice. I’d like to take a look at the libraries too, of course if I would be able to understand anything...

true and they never said anything about size so Valinor is a valid option. However I would like to be at Gondolin during its fall as an invisible person to view the fights. That or at the battle of unnumbered tears where the elves, edain and dwarves almost broke the power of Morogoth if it wasnt for the betrayal of the easterlings
