Re: The Battle of Flanders
I have no clue how naval battles work in this period, so I will say that the fleet is to surround the enemy and destroy every last ship at all costs. Permission to use the Galleys to ram the enemy is granted.

Re: The Battle of Flanders
Basically, you sail up, fire some arrows and ballistae, and then ram them and board.

Re: The Battle of Flanders
I'm not going to board them when they have an entire army on board. -_-
Plan
Sail in a straight formation through theirs and disrupt their co-ordination, use fire arrows to set them on fire and use the galleys to ram them when an opportunity is sighted.

Re: The Battle of Flanders
Orders
Commandeer all captured Vessels, using them for ramming the Dutch at full sail.
Use the Veteran Ships to big mopping up any strong resistance and the rest to surround and pick off the rest whilst ramming any which are trying to board our ships.

Re: The Battle of Flanders
2nd Phase:
Works out pretty well, though the Dutch marines are insanely good (having an army on board) and they quickly are able to commandeer all the ships that try to ram them.
Valois:
-10 Warships (2 destroyed, 8 captured)
-5 Battleships (1 destroyed, 4 captured)
Dutch:
-15 Galleys (destroyed)
+8 Galleys
+4 Battleships
OOC: You've got one phase left, then the army can land.

OOC: -_-
Keep distance from the ships with the troops on, using EVERYTHING to fire flaming arrows at them. Losses are irrelevant, their army must drown.

Re: The Battle of Flanders
Phase 3:
Works great until the survivors get to a harbour and land. You'll be facing a much smaller force though.
Dutch:
-39 Galleys
-all their army except the pikemen, knights, cavalry, and archers
Valois:
-20 Galleys

Re: The Battle of Flanders
The Royal Army is to surround the enemy and keep them trapped in the harbour, putting up wooden spikes for cavalry protection. The Catapults are to bombard them to bits.
King Philip VI's Royal Army
20,000 Vouglier (Elite/Pikemen) $1,440,000
2,000 French Knights (Elite/Heavy Cavalry) $1,008,000
10,000 Archers (Soldier/Archers) $280,000
30,000 Medium Infantry (Soldier/Medium Infantry) $840,000
100 Catapults (Professional/H. Artillery) $75,000
62,100 Men

Re: The Battle of Flanders
Err, I'll just say you lose 10,000 Medium Infantry and 5,000 Vouglier.
Now, can you mod my battle with Sid?

OOC: Lol. If you don't think I'll be biased then I guess so. Just give me all the information I'll need clearly.

Re: The Battle of Flanders
It's in the thread of the Second Battle of Londinium.
And I doubt that you will be, if it's obvious that you are then I'll just delete the thread and try again. But, I'm really hoping I can win, since if I lose I pretty much lose the game, and Sid's not even playing the Scandinavians any more.
