The models are made using 3dsmax, which costs about $3500, but you can download a 30 day free trial. You can use programs such as photopshop, paintshop pro and GIMP to edit the skins.

Yes GIMP is a downloadable program, do a google search for it.

And this should be in the Mod Workshop, moved.

You can find tutorials in the tutorials section which is inside the technical help section. What do modding tutorials have to do with technical help you ask? Well so do I.

Actually, Lusted, I did some looking and found that 3dsmax doesn't cost that much. Only about $650. Not cheap but not $3500. But a 30 day free trial! How many models do you think you could make in 30 days?

It is hard to begin with, it took me many months to learn how to model well.

And you will need either 3ds max 6, 7 or 8 to use the cas import/export script i believe, and they are expensive(and this is from a site selling them quite a bit below the rrp:

    3ds max 8: £2,210
    3ds max 7: £2,210

Well those may be the prices in europe but I did some more searching and found several bundle packages (online of course) that included 3Dsmax 8 and a few other programs (don't know what they were for) and the total price was just under $900. A far more achievable price than $3500 but again, not cheap.
