Shields and swords will win you wars -
But in the end, the battle's for our hearts are fought by bards.
Does it matter for the mod whether we purchase the digital download or the physical version of the game?
no....
Best to not play a save too long, or wacky things tend to happen. The Lord Paramount of the North and his wife are both dwarfs. A Piper will inherit Bear Island and a Tyrell owns Blazewatwer Coast(a northern area).
I also noticed the Dornish skin tone trait seems to conquer all the main houses.
Lord Paramount of the North looks Muslim, along with the Westerlands, the Vale, and the Riverlands.
Only a century had passed...
Also, has the team consider also making a Blackfyre Rebellion scenario? (after the War of Five Kings of course)
"Are you for the Red or the Black?" Haha

The 1.1 version of the mod is released, the kingsroad was added, wildfire, duel system, new casus belli for all ironborn rulers and more
Such a great mod, in such a short time. Played as Eddard Stark and won the war by capturing King's Landing., although all the Usurper Armies were beaten, Jon Arryn captured but luckily capturing the first King's Landing castle was 50% of the war score. Got it up to +96% before all armies were beaten, went down to 85% but then the Targ's sued for peace.
Had 4 children with Catelyn, Sansa with a harelip, Robb who i accidently wounded training him to fight, Brann and Rickon but Catelyn died before i got an Arya. Married Robb with John Arryn's heir, and John soon died in the Doran's prison, so the Vale and the North will be Stark. When catelyn died i decided just for a joke to marry him to Cersei, who had been Hoster Tully's widow. Such fun

Is there a way to download the 1.1 version not on the paradox forums? I can't go to the mods section there because i can't register my game right now...
I have played as House Brax and loved it. I started an AAR http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=543825.

ok so i just Ser Robert Strong'd this thread! but.... They have really done a great job with this mod. And if you are killing time like me till the fix king of the hills and rivers mod launch bug or waiting till v.1.0 its def worth the look! I played as stark and bolton and managed to get Targayren brides... needless to say a Bolton with White platinum hair pretty badass in my opinion.
anyone else tried this one yet?
It is not big on combat but it is big on characters and at times can be hillarious. I just played for Tywin in Robert's Rebellion scenario: Stormlands, North, Vale and Riverlands vs Iron Throne, Reach and Dorne. First of all I went ahead and got married and even managed to sire one more son later. The rebellion itself didn't last long since Robert went and got himslef killed early, but all the other main characters stayed alive and kept thrones. Me as Tywin and Balon stayed out of it entirely. I didn't see the point since I didn't have the claim for Iron Throne myself.
So the next thing after the war mad king goes and appoints me the Hand of the King, which allows me the option to start a plot and claim the Iron Throne for myself, which I did. Aerys didn't like it and we went to war. Fortunately Vale, Riverlands and eventually North joined me in this, while Reach stayed loyal to the crown and Dorne decided to start the war for independence hostile to all parties. I went ahead and married off Cersei to Balon's second son which brought Iron Islands to our side for good measure, but I forgot that Jaime was still in kingsguard so he got imprisoned and executed, oh well (.
Anyway it seemed like it will be easy, but the war went on and on and on for ages. In the meantime Cersei and Tyrion somehow contracted gonorhea (how the fck did that happen I don't want to know) and died too leaving me with the only living son as heir. And when it seemed that our side had finally gained the upperside I got an event where I met Mace Tyrell and battle and instead of playing it safe I went ahead for one-on-one combat and died loosing the war in the process. My only living son kept the the westerlands so I didn't loose the game yet, but Rhaegar kept the Iron Throne too except for Dorne and North. Aerys was dead by then.
Anyway that was and the morale of the story don't go for stupid heroics on the battlefield if you play as Tywin Lannister
Played as Eddard and the North, after a brief uprising against me from one of my minor lords, I marched south to help Robert. Must have faced Mace Tyrell 3 times in personal combat and 3 times he ran back to Highgarden. Robert went on to win the war, and but Lyanna died in Rhaegar's dungeon and he married some women from a family of no importance. The screenshot show Ned's finest fight and something extra. Extra screenshots show there's something queer about the Clegane brothers and the Brokeback Moutain that rides

So is this defnietly worth getting then? Is is better the total war series? opinions- ive seen the critics views already.
I recently managed to get into it, loved playing as the Lannisters during Robert's Rebellion and striking the decisive blow at the last moment. But like other people have said, weird things can happen; I managed to gain the "coward" trait as Eddard Stark after he said he didn't like fighting in battles, and in another game the Freys didn't betray anyone!
By now, especially now, Crusader Kings II, its updates, and its recent add-on's, have made it definitely worth its money.
You might not proclaim it as one of the best games you've played like some have, but I seriously doubt you'll find it to be not worth its value, and if you do find it that way, then I'd say you probably aren't prone to strategy games.

This is an amazing mod for an amazing game and it captures the atmosphere of the Game of Thrones series better than Total War ever could, to be completely honest. Use political marriage and well placed murders to literally inherit a realm like a Lannister, or see it backfire and leave your dynasty dead and cold and wet beneath the rains of Castamere. Forge claims to your neighbours' titles and expand your domain at their expense, or plot with them to overthrow your liege. Breed a large family of heirs and marriage fodder like a Frey, or live in fear of the day you die before your heir is of age like Jon Arryn. Claim the throne only to lose it to rebellions or jealous relatives. I would strongly recommend it. You win or you die, but your heirs, so long as you have them, might win another day.
You can play any single one of the houses, great or small.
Although the magical features in particular are not fully implemented yet, the mod is completely playable and takes an improved version of Crusader Kings 2 into Westeros.
And don't worry. You will be coming back to Westeros Total War because you will miss the actual battles...
P.S. Some of my favourite games so far were:
Petyr Baelish - playing as Petyr is really rough, his lands are so poor he has a really tough time finding anyone to marry him (anyone with prospects that is, Freys who are 100th in line to the Twins are a dime a dozen), or raising money to murder anyone, or sufficient troops to press a fraudulent claim against almost anyone, which is why you really root for him in the end and don't begrudge him the Eyrie a long, long time later, even though he is a right nasty piece of work
Ned Stark - I not only made sure that I fathered all the right children and married Robb to the right Frey to ensure that their dynasty ended there and then once the heir was born, but I also tracked down Dany in a distant court and arranged for her betrothal to Jon Snow, forged a claim the Arbour, defeated the Tyrell's in the following war (attrition is my friend), waited until the young couple birthed an heir and gave the kid, who was Targaryen (bastards can only marry matrilineally), the Arbour, then saved my game and loaded it as:
The new Targaryen Dynasty - this time arriving from the South and claiming overthrowing Hose Tyrell alongside the Reachlords before moving on to crush, disinherit, hunt down, assassinate and generally punish the Lannisters and Cleganes wherever I could. Oh, and take the Iron Throne.
and finally House Lychester of Medway - I claimed and battled my way up to High Lord of Southstone before losing my entire dynasty to assassins and plots after overreaching myself and trying to murder my son's brother-in-law, a neighbouring High Lord, whose titles I was hoping would fall to my grandson once he became the only heir. At least I think that's who it was. It might have been the Freys, who were my targets for one generation further down... and may have had a similar idea to me.
No, I don't like Freys. But it would be awesome to play them, I suppose
