A Time For Wolves...
I liked HoI III but can understand your point of view. It was at times a bit complex but then that era requires that level of complexity. The intelligence aspect of it was weak, why spy on the enemy when you can spend the resources on better tanks and just grinding him into oblivion.
CK2 seems more focused on the political side of things from what i've seen (plots, bloodlines etc). Perfect for Westeros but also very interesting to get involved in dynastic wars, rebellious vassals etc. I liked that in TW games and was disappointed when far from expanding the family mechanic of the previous games, shogun just chopped it right down to the immediate family![]()
Secret for the demo- you actually aren't limited to playing the four characters they give you. Select one of them, hit start, and as its loading quickly click on any other province on the map to play as its owner.
Spoiler for HOTSEATS:
well this mod progress big time since it was last typed on here.
Sorry guys is there a link to this mod anywhere?
As much as I love TW and WTW I think that the style of CK2 suits the world of westeros almost perfectly.
Heh, CK2 with a real time combat option just like total war, with your marshals for each batallion and else would be the greatest game in the world, just think about it![]()
^That would definitely keep me interested in it! You could start off as a captain and gain a title from a victory and just climb from there! I kinda hope the westeros mod simplifies it somewhat...I went and got CK2 because it looked just plain awesome and it seemed only a matter of time before a westeros mod is created for it, but Its so Overwhelming! I have no idea where to begin on any of it! I should have got the demo to start...
^ Yeah I did a little bit of that today and wasn't Quite as lost as before, picked the Norwegian county up on the tippy top of Scotland there, still a lot to learn but I at least was able to follow a little bit of what was happening. Was irritated that every 10 days or so the king would keep calling all my levies and taking them off somewhere! How do you manage so many people in the court when you start getting more lands? I can barely keep up with the 20 or so I have at the moment!
Can you trade them back and forth with your vassals?
Did you guys try the mod already? I would advise playing as Lord of Greyshield (Harras) or as Lord of Kingsgrave (Manwoody), they are really fun, while I found most kingdoms and northern lords a bit dull. I had an amazing bug I noticed when I saw the lordship of Last Hearth in the westernlands. Apparently, some westerman had married Jon Umber... yes, both men, and had a daughter... yes, the two guys, so it was pretty hilarious.
^lol had that once.
:O it's available to play??
