History

The History of the Kingdom of Hungary is one of great complexity. The Hungarians themselves are not from this land but instead the Magyars in the 9th century invaded and conquered the lands that makes up the current kingdom of Hungary, lead by the now legendary King Lazlo I. Once settled all was well the Slavs who had been in the region before the Hungarians had either been killed fighting in the initial invasion, migrated or had been integrated into Magyar society. Following the death of King Lazlo I in the late 9th century, and upon succession of King Lazlo II the Kingdoms populace seemed captivated by an ideology from the west, this idea was Catholicism, which the King wasted no time making the official religion of Hungary.
