The based model is made by the talented KP-ShadowSquirrel that I modified a bit. The things I made from scratch here are the mane and tail.

This is not finished yet, of course. Many parts of it need to be fixed, and yes... UV mapping, always the most interesting step.

Nice ... But will it be usable in RTW?

It's least of my concern for now. I'd rather want to make it an unique unit instead of a mount, so I'll pretty much need to work on a new animations for it. Plus, I prefer to have it fully usable in M2TW.

I have another suggestion that the guys here and you will probably like, but I thought that this unit will look amazing when you make it and plus the units I wanted to suggest is greek again. So I can't wait to see how will the first barbarian unit look.
