Ponti has my respect. The fact that he has been harassed speaks for him and against those who did not appreciate what he has done for the site. This is a serious loss and those who are responsible by their bad behavior for his resign should feel ashamed.

Mr. Pontifex, you gave me an opportunity to join the illustrious mod team last year.

Despite my somewhat juvenile tendencies when I had first became active, you still saw something in me you saw as being worth lenient towards. My online personality has grown a lot since then and I'm proud to have survived underneath you moderating the sometimes colorful D&D. Haha!

I'm not going to make any tearful goodbyes or anything, because I honestly get the suspicious feeling you'll spring forth like a phoenix and return with even greater splendor and acclaim. But know that from the kind, courteous, and thoughtful genorocity you extended towards me in our brief dealings with each other, have the security in knowing just that. Few people go out of their way to strive to such heights without forgetting their humility. You're one of those rare guys.

I will continue to look for you in the odd corners of this forum, lurking about, posting randomly and eagerly await your return after these things have passed.

Till then, take care man and keep on doing what you're doing.

It's a shame Pontifex resigned when he showed a strength of character in the face of adversity equal to anyone else ever serving in the capacity of Hex. He may not have had the most popular style, but it's not about popularity so much as effectiveness. Everything needs a counterpoint, if everybody took the same hard or soft approach to matters it'd be a yesman factory. Unified outside Hex, divided within, in my opinion at least.

I have respected Ponti from day one and seeing this has made me post for the first time in ages. Hope all goes well for him, I would like to thank him for all the help he has given me, especially during the TFT days.
