Trade ships cost 1,000 a piece, you must have trade ships to make trading ventures.

A few people may have, entirely accidentally, neglected to purchase trade ships prior to looking for rolls to be done and those rolls were still done. Those rolls will stand, as there were a good few of them, but from now on it is expected that everyone have trade ships purchased and recorded in your information page/home thread before you request a roll.

There are, in the next few days, going to be a number of changes to the General Game Rules regarding Economy. These changes are intended to a) make it easier for you to calculate your wealth even without the use of the Wealth Calculator (which will be updated to reflect these changes and it is greatly encouraged that you use it) and b) balance the economy more so that a player need not hold a high rank to get a decent income.

Prior to doing anything significant I will be reviewing the personal finances of everyone, you're not going to be punished for inconsistency but I'm going to point them out if they're there. The intent here is to find out what is making people money, besides holding office, and how are they making it.

As a result of recent events I am making a few declarations, all must heed them and they effect the game itself.

Given the lack of records proving it, and the proven vagueness of Sextus's financial records, I am hereby declaring that the Legions in Hispania are not considered replenished.

EVERYONE, and I mean everyone, is expected to have an easily browsable recording of their finances available in their home thread from the next turn forward. Any cock-ups you've made prior to that turn will be excused as long as they don't vastly affect the game, for instance if you raised three legions or forgot to pay legionary replenishment you can expect to be called up on it. From the next income turn forward however it is expected that everyone have their records in good order for review every three-four turns, any irregularities pointed out in game will be pursued in game.

Given the sheer extent of the economic changes coming down the pipeline, which are many, you are being given one further "free turn" in which you will to earn income based on the current system, which can be calculated using the wealth calculator. After that turn I expect everyone to be keeping easily referenced and complete records of all spending and income.
