    Default Milanese Family Tree

In my Milan campaign, I've noticed there is no family tree.

Has anyone else had a similar occurnece happen with Milan or another Italian Faction?

There is no family tree then. Genoa (Milan) is a Republic.

Then I suggest reading the release post for BftB2

As Yuri said, Genoa along with Venice and Novgorod are republics in BftB2. They no longer have family trees but have an approval process for each general. If the general does things the council/governing body approves of (such as winning battles, increasing trade) they gain traits which boost their authority. The general with the highest authority should then become the next faction heir.
