A Classical Music Modification
Version 0.5 for Empire: Total War
Hello all, and welcome to 'A Classical Music Mod for Empire: Total War'.
Some of you may have seen my similar music mod for N:TW, others may not, but the aim and execution are almost identical. That being, to largely replace the vanilla soundtrack with some appropriate classical music, not necessarily contemporary, but tasteful enough to improve the atmosphere.
What began as a project for Napoleon, I have decided to convert over to Empire for a greater number of people to enjoy. When looking at the other music mods on offer, I noticed there already existed a Classical Mod and a Period Music Mod for E:TW, so to call this one 'The Classical Music Mod for E:TW', would have been poor form and disrespectful to say the least. My reasons in creating this mod are entirely subjective, I admit. I felt my choice of pieces worked well in Napoleon and thought they would also do so in Empire, but I'll let you judge that for yourself. Also I want to exhibit classical music that has not found its way into the realm of cliché and overuse. Although, in this pack you will find some old favourites, you are also sure to encounter some pieces that are less familiar.
I'd be most open to any feedback that any of you may have, be it sound criticism or suggestions or anything else.
So, in brief this pack changes the music for:
-Frontend Menu
-The Credits
-Loading Screens
-Pre-Battle and Battle Results
-Battles (Land and Naval, Deployment and Engagement)
-The Campaign Map-Miscellaneous (Button pressing noises and a couple of campaign voices, albeit in good humour!)
A breif sample of included composers and works:

-Bedřich Smetana ('Má Vlast' - Vltava)
-Anton Bruckner (Symhony No. 8 'Apocalyptic')

-Frédéric Chopin (Cello Sonata in G)
-Michael Tippett (A Child of Our Time)
-Claude Debussy (String Quartet in G)
-Johannes Brahms (String Sextet No. 1)
-Antonín Dvořák (Symphony No. 9)
-Gustav Holst (The Planets: Mars)

Current Progress
(04/10/11)
Currently the annoying battle music loop points remain in for the initial release due to technical difficulties that I hope to resolve soon. Also I have left the Tribal and Indian theatre music largely untouched, and I'll leave it to feedback as to whether they should be replaced with classical music or not. There are a few gaps remaining and these will be filled in due time as I bring this project up to the same standard as my N:TW equivalent.
