Sorry if I was unclear trk.
What I meant to say was All the American factions will be included in their special, stand alone, pack.
But the USA MAY be included in the standard NTW:3 game in a future version.

It always had the USA in it. That's the War of 1812
thanks. as william said, it is hard to see a war of 1812 without the usa. so it really is a structural thing.
Just to clarify: USA will be in the War of 1812. The Lordz, however, are also looking into adding them to Multiplayer NTW:3 to play against the European factions included there as well. So you will have 1) Multiplayer with all the factions from the War of 1812 (England, USA, Indian factions etc.) and 2) NTW3 that we have now will also have the USA, so for instance you could play Westphalia vs USA or Russia vs USA.
Hope this helps,
Tarheel
Why only mp? Can't you add the USA as a playable faction for sp too? Can't wait to see this mod. It's a pity NTW can't be expanded to cover a more global arena like in Empire. I know the issue is with CA not allowing maps to be changed... we can hope one day...
We are about to start the 'stating out' of the units in the game.
I am wondering if any of the posters here would like to help us with determining/balancing the numbers?
I know a little about the war of 1812 & have some good information to rate the basic units there, but know almost nothing about the rest.
I'll help if i can.
As a student in early American military history one thing I can be clear on is that during the war of 1812 a lot of militias sprang into action which could range anywhere from 10- 150 men.
Now the actual army of the United States at that time was only roughly about 7,000 men when the war of 1812 began (this is debatable and no clear number is existent without looking at actual records which i am short on. You can imagine then that regiments were not as large as british ones. Again numbers vary but it seems clear it was almost always under 750.
Training wise these men were not the best of the best, but they were decent enough. Our officers we're trained "enough" and best drills came from the french who had assisted in training during the Revolutionary war. So alot of the training came second hand from what we had learned from the french.
While by this time though the army rangers were in existence and they would have been the best trained troops.
Some regiments especially those that fought in Canada like the 3rd regiment made a name for themselves in being well trained. Accuracy wise they were slightly lower than that of the British, but being that we had some new rifles we were able to make up for that.
Now down to the actual soldier, he was actually a fair amount taller and bigger than the British soldier(an edge in melee?). The american troops had a direct supply line anywhere and were thus better fed and taken care of. The British would have had to have supplies shipped from England then distributed among armies and regiments. As well there have been reports from diary entries and the like that suggest many British troops didn't want to be fighting this war. (Perhaps these can factor into moral?)
Based on the stats available through Le FUSIL's v3-1 for NTW (I realise NTW3 uses different numbers, but this is what I have to go on), here is how I would grade basic unit types from the War of 1812.
USA:
Militia Company (e.g. armed citizenry):
Range 80 / Accuracy 25 / Reload 10 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 3/9 / Defence 4 / Morale 3
Remarks: The sedentary / local militia was often poorly armed, poorly trained, and poorly led!
(State) Volunteer Militia Company (e.g. Michigan Legionary Corps or 5th Regiment of Maryland Militia)
Range 80 / Accuracy 35 / Reload 15 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 4/9 / Defence 4 / Morale 3
Remarks: these troops were often embodied for months at a time, thus I boosted their stats.
(State) Volunteer Rifle Company (e.g. 1st Regiment of New York Riflemen)
Range 125 / Accuracy 70 / Reload 25 / Ammo 15 / Men 40 / Melee 3/1 / Defence 4 / Morale 3
Regiment of U.S. Riflemen
Range 125 / Accuracy 80 / Reload 45 / Ammo 15 / Men 40 / Melee 4/2 / Defence 5 / Morale 7
Pre-1812 U.S. Infantry Regiment (e.g. 4th U.S. Infantry Regiment)
Range 80 / Accuracy 55 / Reload 45 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 6/10 / Defence 8 / Morale 6
Remarks: these troops were used more as a constabulary force to check the Amerindians on the frontier (hence the good accuracy) and had very little of the rudiments of maneuvering of a regular European army.
Newly raised U.S. Infantry Regiment c. 1812
Range 80 / Accuracy 35 / Reload 20 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 4/9 / Defence 4 / Morale 5
Remarks: Most were raw recruits!
U.S. Infantry Regiment c. 1813
Range 80 / Accuracy 45 / Reload 35 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 5/10 / Defence 6 / Morale 6
U.S. Infantry Regiment c. 1814
Range 80 / Accuracy 55 / Reload 45 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 6/12 / Defence 8 / Morale 6
Scott’s Brigade (9th/22nd, 11th, 25th U.S. Infantry Regiments)
Range 80 / Accuracy 55 / Reload 60 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 7/13 / Defence 10 / Morale 6
Remarks: More than a match for the redcoats at Chippewa and Lundy's Lane.
Volunteer Militia Cavalry (e.g. 7th Regiment of New York Light Dragoons)
Range 0 / Accuracy 0 / Reload 0 / Ammo 0 / Men 30 / Melee 7/9 / Defence 3 / Morale 5
Mounted Rangers (e.g. Johnson’s Regiment of Kentucky Mounted Volunteers)
Range 125 / Accuracy 80 / Reload 35 / Ammo 15 / Men 30 / Melee 5/3 / Defence 5 / Morale 7
Remarks: Mounted Riflemen
Regiment of U.S. Light Dragoons
Range 0 / Accuracy 0 / Reload 0 / Ammo 0 / Men 30 / Melee 10/12 / Defence 8 / Morale 7
Great Britain:
Militia Company
Range 80 / Accuracy 25 / Reload 10 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 3/9 / Defence 4 / Morale 3
Remarks: The sedentary / local militia was often poorly armed, poorly trained, and poorly led!
Select Embodied Militia Battalion / Incorporated Militia Battalion
Range 80 / Accuracy 35 / Reload 25 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 4/11 / Defence 4 / Morale 3
Remarks: once formed these units were embodied for the duration of the war.
Fencible Regiment
Range 80 / Accuracy 50 / Reload 60 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 7/13 / Defence 8 / Morale 6
Remarks: Look like regulars, trained like regulars, just don't have to leave Canada's snowy shores.
Canadian Voltigeurs / Glengarry Light Infantry
Range 100 / Accuracy 50 / Reload 60 / Ammo 15 / Men 60 / Melee 5/11 / Defence 7 / Morale 6
Remarks: And the award for the best light troops of the war goes to ...
Regiment of Foot (e.g. 41st Regiment of Foot or 49th (Hertfordshire) Regiment of Foot)
Range 80 / Accuracy 50 / Reload 60 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 7/13 / Defence 10 / Morale 6
Peninsula Veterans (e.g. 85th (Bucks Volunteers) Regiment of Foot)
Range 80 / Accuracy 50 / Reload 60 / Ammo 10 / Men 80 / Melee 7/13 / Defence 12 / Morale 7
Remarks: Wellington's Invincibles
Provincial Light Dragoons
Range 0 / Accuracy 0 / Reload 0 / Ammo 0 / Men 30 / Melee 7/9 / Defence 3 / Morale 4
19th Light Dragoons
Range 0 / Accuracy 0 / Reload 0 / Ammo 0 / Men 30 / Melee 7/13 / Defence 7 / Morale 5
Amerindian:
Native Irregulars (should scare enemy – well as long as they are not from Kentucky!)
Range 100 / Accuracy 60 / Reload 15 / Ammo 15 / Men 40 / Melee 5/19 / Defence 4 / Morale 3
Remarks: great skirmishers with a powerful shock attack, however, poor defence and low morale (representative of their individualistic approach to warfare) means one must keep an eye on them!
Also, I can not recommend enough http://history-uniforms.over-blog.com/ This website will be your friend for almost all your War of 1812 related questions!
Kind regards,

So is there an E.T.A. on when/if this is going to be released?
Awesome... any news on this mod... and I would like to know how I would be able to help in anyway. I work at Fort George in Niagara on the lake and was a prominent battlefield for the war of 1812. I was wondering if anyone could show me how to find/use the tools to be able to make a map outlining the fort for an attack and defend scenario.
Its very late so i should prob go to bed ...
this was very hard to find!
3 niagara campaign maps are finished.
When will we have units and be able to play?
any chance we can have the battle of fort george included?
awesome! wish i could help
Hmmmm....
Lets say we can do the fort ,but the amphibious nature of the operation will be impossible to reproduce.

hmmm... ya i would like to do the fort and help out if at all possible.... but ya its amphibious to a point where the fort is being bombarded by ships and fort niagara accross the channel. The Americans did land forces on a beach a bit north of the fort and the british met them with a smaller force..... that could be implemented the ships are not needed
