Problem with .gif

So I made an animated rain effect, saved the picture as .gif and it works. But if I upload it it's .gif with only one frame. Might be the same thing as in this thread, but apparently the OP found the solution by himself and didn't post it.

Also if some one could give me hint or two about making rain effect. In my picture the left side and the bottom are whitish, how can I fix it?
I use GIMP, so PS knowledge isn't helping I'm afraid.

where did you try to upload the picture?

The animation is fine, something wrong with your uploading service.

imageshack and probably others do not provide .gif support so you should try and find one that does.

Imageshack is the one I used.

odd since that whitish thing I talked about is gone in that Ishan posted but the one I have on my pc still has it. Maybe WMP messed it up somehow..

But good thing that the problem was only with the upload site. Thank you all for your quick help
