Tony's brother posted this in the RTR Dev Forum, I thought it deserved a spot where more people would see it since Tony was much more than a modder to this site.

Farewell, Tony.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce that Tony83, better known to me as my elder brother Gordon, died this morning, 25th September.

Looking at his on line profile, you may be forgiven for thinking that he was a fit, larger than life person. Where the latter was certainly true, unfortunately the former wasn’t. Suffice to say that he had suffered heart problems for several years and it finally gave out on him early this morning. It seems that he was working on a new skin for an Oscan infantryman at the time, so at least he was doing something he really loved when it happened.

He was the driving force that re-kindled my interest in modding and without him… well, I don’t know if I will carry on myself anymore. But that is in the future. For now, there are lots of things to be done. I will have to put aside my interests and be there to support the rest of my family.

Feel free to post an announcement where you may think it should appear and thank you for your patience.

I can't say I had the pleasure of knowing Tony very well, but I can certainly respect the impact he had on this community and a few good friends of mine, not to mention the tremendous work he put into RTR. May God grant him eternal rest.

These are the times when you truly feel there is no such thing as God and justice in real life. He was such a nice guy and a friendly person to talk to, you will be dearly missed brother and TWC can't recover from this unfortunate loss.

I recently had an interaction with him a few days ago over something, can't believe he left us.

My condolences to his family. I knew Tony a little bit from my dealings with him concerning the RTR forum here but I always respected him as a person, a member of this site, and as a talented modder. May his soul rest in peace.

God is good... so long as God lives, mercy lives. As sad as an early death is, and as dim as the light of the world can seem, so much higher is the life of lives, the light of lights. The mercy of the One who Tony seemed so unconcerned about will always be stronger than the weakness of sin and death. What a great memento mori for those of us left in the Chronos, to remember the truths of life and the heavier things before we, too, go into darkness without so much as a glance as what's right.

I could never have hoped to meet a nicer agnostic than Tony83, if that means anything... the Lord will use that for his soul's benefit, no doubt.

RIP Tones, this hit me like a truck. You were such a great guy I am going to miss you, all of our odd quirky conversations on RTR and the occasional speedo pic. You inspired and carried RTR on your shoulders. It is tragic you were taken so young, but I hope you have found peace. My condolence's to your family, you will truly be missed.
