Failed Assassination and Speech

Baldwin gets in a balcony on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, guarded by the three Orders. The speech would be sent to every nation around. It was very far up, but the building was surrounded by tens and thousands of people. Big, rich houses surrounded them. It was nice sunny day, like usual.

Before I start, I bless all of Christendom for allowing me to rule this holy kingdom. I will bring us out of the ashes and destroy all those who appose the Pope.

Sad things have been happening though in this world..Vikings are attacking one of our allies..while they try to take over the government of Koln with a gross marriage. Do not worry people, I will stop this madness at once; hopefully the King will agree to marrying one of our high ranking Teuton brothers or such. We will not allow their country to be ruined by heathens. We also will help them defend their borders from the Pagans after those scum to the South fall. However, in good news, the ERE is our friends. We hope to build a bridge with them at once and other Christians. We hope for nations to send help to aide in defending the Levant.

A contingent of the Knights Templar roughly escort five dark looking captured figures. They had wool bags of their head and had their hands died. They looked starving and were obviously abused.

Then all of sudden..the crowd knew who those five men were. They were the generals who opposed the Crusaders: Kilij Arslan I, Yaghi-Siyan, Kerbogha , and Duqaq. They were going to be killed..But who was the fifth person? The crowd went silent.

The Templars pushed the other men down in position to be beheaded one by one. Three of the known generals were killed..but at the last one something strange happened. The crowd was silent till someone shouted.

The Templars stopped for a second, and then out of the crowd and buildings came arrows. The knights fell quickly..Baldwin was shocked..and then he heard behind him men groaning. His bodyguard were killed..There stood a man in white robes, he was a Muslim. He unsheathed a dagger.

No one has the right to chose a person's religion, or life. This is for oppressing the people, scum.

The assassin stabbed Baldwin three times in the chest and he fell to the ground bleeding badly. The man that was going to be executed was gone; soldiers from Jerusalem came to investigate. Baldwin was severely hurt, but would live. Jerusalem shut its gates. No one would be allowed in or out until these assassins were found.

More info. has been found out, but not much. We know at least 10 assassins were in this failed attack. This is what they have been depicted as.



We don't know who the man that escaped was because only Baldwin knew and he is in critical condition at the moment.



The King wakes up two days later, but is fine even from so much blood loss. No treatment is needed but rest. He makes a letter to be read after they found out even more:

We know who you scum are, assassins. Or should I say Hashshashin? Islamic extremists were sent to kill me, but failed. As we speak, our Hospitaller brothers are being sent to kill them in one of our cities: Mysaf. The man who escaped was their leader: Hasan-i Sabbah. He will be dealt with.
