I just had a look at Honorius and his portrait made me lol. Very appropriate.

Joar, do you happen to base your portraits on real people for those where you don't have a pictorial source?

No, when no statue, bust, painting or description exists, I try to use as much basic information I can, i.e. the ethnicity of the person in question, what kind of hairstyle would be appropriate, and so on. But it sooner or later comes down to my own interpretations.

Cool, I was just wondering. I'm very impressed with your work (obviously) and can't wait to see the plethora of the RO ones too!

No off topic discussions in this thread please. I've already listed what software I use in my Arthur thread, and if anyone wants to discuss this topic further they can contact me by pm.

Joar, I did not look at the list of programs in your Arthur thread, I'll take a look.

Knon I do not think you was off topic, because I think that my post was off topic!

You were not off topic. My last post was not directed at you. Diocle raised the issue of what software I used, and I don't want this thread to be too "technical" in that respect. I've also already discussed this topic in the Arthur thread, and replied to several topics about this.

    Sorry for the confusion!

Ah, sorry about that Joar, my mistaken. Feel free to delete this post and the previous one once you have read them, they're just clutter now.

Few more refernce pictures. Well as a starting date for RO´s campaigns are not know yet, here are some coins of the emperors of the Gallic empire, who I know.
I hope it will help and the amount of coins will not discourage you from the your great artist work.

    Describtion of the attached files: 1. - 2 .Postumus, 3. Marius, 4. - 5. Victorinus, 6. - 7. Tetricus I., 8, Tetricus II. (son of Tetricus I, made Caesar by him).

I got a question if I could upload a couple of the Julian portraits, so here they are. It's a set of two portraits, one with Julian as crowned emperor, and the second one with him in armour and helmet. I've named the files so that those of you who lack the ability to open and view tga files will still be able to tell the portraits apart. This of course means you'll have to rename them yourself and put them in SAI.

Wonderful job, both are incredibly good, I will have to decide which of them I will use for my SAI copy.

Both are good, although i would argue julian would have had more decorative armor than that.

Indeed, very good. It would be interesting if it were able to alternate between the two images in the battle map and the campaign map. Now that would be sweet!

Glad you like them, and I hope these are the ones you wanted.

Well, technically you are, but you'll have to switch the images yourself, and I guess you'll grow pretty tired of it after a while...
