I really want to make one and complete my transcendence into geek heaven. I've been reading about The Hobbit films being made and it has rekindled my desire for a LOTR forumgame.

The really dedicated fanboys probably won't approve, if you can make this without anyone (ever) saying "That is inaccurate", I'd be surprised.
You'd probably be better off generating your own scenario and setting.
... I do not deny that my heart has greatly desired this
In the place of an administrator you would have an RPG! Not boring but beautiful and fun as GSTK! Treacherous as the alliance games! Stronger than the foundations of the internet! All shall love me and be banned!
A pipe dream. I don't have any time for this...but I want to do it eventually.
Don't assume my post is a "YOU'LL NEVER SUCCEED" post, I fully encourage it and... you'll have my bow.
You know, if you really to get into Geek Heaven, Call of Cthullhu is the way to go
I might be interested in this if it takes off

Debauchery, discovery,
deceit, damnation, death... of course it plays.
If I was to work on some rules for this (they would be heavily GSTK/Roman Struggle Based) would you guys be interested?

"Darkness? I was born in it...molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man. By then it was nothing to me but blinding! The shadows betray you because they belong to me!"But there must always be a Darth Traya, one that holds the knowledge of betrayal. Who has been betrayed in their heart, and will betray in turn."
"You clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, I AM the danger! A guy opens his door and gets shot and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks! "
I dare say I would, personally, depending on how much time I have.

Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

Ok, I'm a little busy atm but I have some rules I was working on for a early medieval rpg that I can put toward this. Let me see what I can do.
Questions: should the option be given to allow players to be bad and good or only good? What era are you guys most interested in? etc etc

Second age might be interesting
I am all in for this!! Now I wanna try to get back into roleplaying on Scrolls of Arda.

I find the whole Fourth Age more interesting, simply because of my RTW based intro to LOTR, but Second Age suits be fine. Also, I think the oppertunity for being good or evil has to be in there.
