    FAR EAST

    South Korea

    1. Watch out!

    • nothing

    2. Average prices

    • nothing

    3. Local customs

    • One thing you should try and is pretty much the daily part of every korean man's life is a rice beer called "Soju". You can find it pretty much.. erm.. EVERYWHERE. They love it, and people are so crazy about it they will offer you it in traditional food places for free if they take a liking to you. There are some rules to follow when drinking Soju, especially among Koreans, you better ask any koreans you know about those.
    • Korean people are VERY polite. Almost creepily so. If you go outside of Seoul keep some Korean phrases handy since people there know amazingly little english. Not that they're supposed to anyways.
    • It's a nice place really, very high tech. But one thing that was weird is how nationalist they are about their products. You can barely find anything that isn't hyundai, LG, or samsung.

    4. Must do's

    • Bulguksa: A really big buddhist temple complex. Its very very nice. If you ever have the time you should visit it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulguksa
    • Busan: Very big and nice city
    • Ulsan: This is a small city in the south. It is not a tourist site. However if you're interested in industrial things then this place has one of the largest shipyards on earth (hyundai). If you're interested you can even call in and ask Hyundai to book a tour of their facilities. The sheer size will blow you away.

    5. Tourist traps

    • nothing

    Vietnam

    1. Watch out!

    • Wrap a keffiyeh/Smagh round your head to stop yourself getting bitten by insects, just don't do it at the airport. See if you can get some quinine as well and chew on that, that should keep the insects away

    2. Average prices

    • nothing

    3. Local customs

    • nothing

    4. Must do's

    • nothing

    5. Tourist traps

    • nothing

    Thailand

    1. Watch out!

    2. Average prices

    • nothing

    3. Local customs

    4. Must do's

    • You will find the perfect Asian city in Bangkok, with temples, markets and much more to visit. Tours, that you can organize in your hotel's lobby, can take you on a two hour drive to rain-forests, coconut sugar refineries, elephant rides (I'm sure your two kids will love this), boat rides, and so much more.
    • Phuket is regarded by many as the perfect paradise on Earth. The experience of Phuket starts in the airplane, during the decent into Phuket's airport. As you look out of the window, you will see some of the best scenery you've ever seen, such as amazing islands and small resorts in the shores of some of these islands.
    • When in Phuket, you can either relax in some of the best beaches in the world, or, if your the adventurous kind, you can book some tours from your hotel. These tours are different than the ones in Bangkok, in tours like this, you'll be taken into a speedboat, then, using the speedboat, you'll be taken into exciting, mini-paradise islands (such as the Koh Phi Phi Islands). I can tell you this, the minute you land in one of these islands, you will know the true meaning of the word 'Breathtaking'.

    5. Tourist traps
