OK, I love a lot of things about this mod, very nice units and it's definitely a challenge but I find a few flaws and I hope you gentlemen are open to some critiquing?
Here I will only address one for now because I think it is a very important one. You have given the game a very nice four season turn which I like much, much more than 1 year turn base. Not sure if this has been addressed or not but one important thing. My Faction leader, Heirs and generals all age 1 year each season instead of 1 year every four seasons. Has no one found this odd or am I the odd man out?
Please gentlemen, my Leaders, Heirs and Generals are dropping like flies before they find any Glory...

OK, no joke, time for a reinstall then...
I can't figure out how to get RTW Realism to run. When I try to run it, it says "Barbarian Invasion is not installed or RTW Realism mod is not in the correct folder" I have barbarian invasion installed, I can start it up if I want to. I don't know where to put the realism files in order for me to run the program. I am not sure if I have the 1.6 patch for Barbarian invasions but I tried to install it anyway and it wouldnt let me saying that 1.6 only upgrades 1.3 to 1.5 and I must find 1.3. So I installed 1.3 but 1.6 still wouldnt install. BLah blah blah I can't get anything to work except for vanilla RTW and Vanilla Barb invasions.
Any advice?
First of all, welcome at the RTR forums!
I'd advice to use this order:
- Install the RTW 1.3 patch
- Install the RTW 1.5 patch
- Install the BI 1.6 patch
- Install RTR
That should work.

When I try to install patch 1.5 it basically denies me saying I should install patch 1.3. But I have already installed patch 1.3
Weird. Have you got the Gold Edition or separate versions? Anyway, I think that uninstalling and starting again from zero would be the best thing to do at this moment. Other than that, I can't think of anything which would solve this issue![]()

Ok I checked where I got Rome Total War from and it says that Barbarian invasion is included with patch 1.6. So my only problem now is making Rome Total Realism recognize Barbarian invasion. Right now it says that I don't have barbarian invasion installed or I installed rtw realism in the wrong folder. I tried to move the application of rtw realism to the same place as barbarian invasion, but ya I can't get it to recognize that I have barbarian invasion. If I just shoved the two programs in the same place would that work?
You should not install RTR in the BI folder, you should just install it in the RTW folder (so that it's on the same level as the BI folder).![]()

eyyyyy! + rep and all that. I have already on mah pc RTR gold/platinum. Also, for the first time i realised that the various RTR editions all have different names. Is each edition an older edition modified, or is it a series of seperate mods advancing in chronological order...? if so, where does platinum fit? Should i keep platinum, and just add a new RTW folder for this mod, or delete/replace...?
also (v 7 is downloading now), it seems you have cut out the various barbaric factions and replaced them with a singular "barbarian tribes"? What was the reasoning for that?
RTR6: Platinum was essentially a culmination point, after which there was a complete from scratch rebuilding, with a completely different mod team which was quite a bit more ambitious..
You'll understand the dynamic once you play it. Early on you are just trying to become a power in your own little region, which is quite a hard slog. You'll only run into the other major powers once you get into the "mid-game". The mod team has done a fabulous job of making the mid-game interesting and challenging.also (v 7 is downloading now), it seems you have cut out the various barbaric factions and replaced them with a singular "barbarian tribes"? Sicksick.
So i'll keep platinum, add vii, should i also grab any earlier versions? do any stick out?
RTR VII is the culmination of the VII series, of which FOE is more or less a part of the VII scope while TIC offers a totally different experience.
RTRVII: The Iberian Conflict is a heavily scripted and challenging mini-campaign in which you step in the shoes of Hamilcar Barca as he tries to conquer the Iberian peninsula. It's really worth it to give that one a go as well besides playing RTR VII itself.![]()

you can't campaign with the germans?
Not yet. We are working towards the release of a last faction, though, which will be a German one. But that's still very much of a work in progress, for now you'll have to do with German mercenaries which can be hired in the northern part of the map![]()

This mod is super. Even better than Roma Surrectum. I thougt that was the ultimate mod... There is one thing though, it is almost impossibel to read the victory conditions. Is it any way to make them more visible?
