    Default Hex Editing sound_events

    Hello all,

I'm currently working on a sound mod I've released recently and I'd like to remove the looping of the battle music and alter a few other things. Now I understand this is achieved by hex editing the file 'sound_events' that appeared in the 'patch5.pack'.

Now, I'm totally new to modding, let alone hex editing however I persevered.

I was partially successful when using a program named Hex Workshop and managed to put my own music into the Peninsular Campaign in .mp3 format where it would normally be in .wav. However this program is unable to display the whole text string and the parameters that I need to change are lost in a load of gobbeldy-gook, to put it mildly.

Now I wonder if any of you who have a knowledge of these matters can help me with this, either recommending me program that can fully read the file or just generally pointing me in the right direction.

Many thanks for reading, and even more so if you can lend a helping hand.

Blow it! Some trial and error with editing the file may be the only way forward. Thanks all the same.
