To differenciate between the classes of ships, I'll probably play a little with the sails (have them full or not), and perhaps slighlty with the view angle.

But I don't want to make it too different, like from the front and one from the back (what CA did), I think it lacks consistency

Very nice.But don´t missunderstand me,can you just add more stredched sails to the ships?Some looking how naked antens.It´s only my assumption but with the stredched sails they look more robust and heavy.But as always good work mister.

Stretched sheet? You mean the sails?

If I do that they will all look the same. I've varied the position of the sails so you can make a difference between the different classes of 74-guns ships of the line for instance.

Also, full sails for small ship have a nasty side effect : due to the speed, there's foam and waves at the bottom of the ship, and it does not always look nice and the scale of the icons.

Unfortunately, the icons are too small to clearly see the different colours. But I made specific icons for each faction anyway.

Question: Will you be sharing these unit cards once you have finished the mod (following your terms on the op)?

Yes, unit cards and icons can be re used.

I'm placing them in "faction packs". Here for instance, the French ship icons are in the French pack with the infantry, cav, etc. And Britain ships, infantry, cav, art (including Brunswick or KGL) in the British pack.

The idea is that when we finish a faction completly, then the pack should remain unchanged. They can get quite big (more than 200 Mb for France). So you'd have to delete the pack once, and then the core of the game with the stats is only 11 Mb, so if we make improved version with stats tweaking, you don't need to download again the whole faction pack.

And when we add later Prussia for instance, you can just download the Prussia pack and the Core, and no need to download previously released pack.

By the way, have you done anything to those icons (added effects), or are they just a screen shot?

For all my icons (land and naval units), it's a screenshot, then resize, then some effects (sharpen + contrast and lighting)

The main difficulty is to have a similar view points for the units, to size them correctly (more important for land units), and also to have a similar sky.

Sometime I restart 10 times before I get a sky without clouds, or some have a grey background, others a blue one, and it doesn't look consistent.
