I can supply simply awesome Russian drums that were used from 1805 to 1812... And remove the flautists for Russia, they were NOT used ( rather add another drummer to keep the unit's number of men )

Spoiler for Mods I use:
I am working on the campaign map, trying to find the best way to add new generals at start. I have tested a new method. It seems to work, but I'm not sure one hundred percent. Basically, it involves adding a unit to a city, moving it so it's alone in the countryside. The game automatically add a "colonel" to edit.
Then I open the save and the startpos, take the colonel from the save and copy it in the startpos. And after that, I transform it into a colonel.
It's relatively easy and fast, but there are several issues:
- I may have missed a reference to the new unit somewhere
- In the startpos, general don't have the same number of lines as colonel. So I'm not sure just replacing "colonel" by "general" is enough.
I did a quick test. When starting a new campaign, my general is there, I can move it, it can recruit...
Now, I need to finish cleaning a few things, and I'd need additional testing.
I will put an update of the map online, with a very early beta of the startpos. I need testers to try playing as France, and then as Britain or Austria. You will not be able to recruit or play much, I just need you to check if you can use the new generals (Lannes, Soult and Lasalle) normally. As France, can you move them and attack the ennemy, are there traits working properly. And if you plain as Britain or Austria, confirm the AI is using these generals.
Oh my goodness I only tried MOE today,a highly recommended mod.Such hardwork on the uniforms and cards. Great job to all of you on the making of MOE. Thank you
About the drums Steph, I am not responsible for the breakthrough of faction specific drums, but I thought that I would spread the word
I can give you the files to have faction specific drums, and tell you what to put into the DB files.
The mesh file, at the moment, can hold 9 sets of 2 drums (18 all up). Each set can be set to a specific unit through the battle_personalities table (or in my and your case, set to a specific faction).
Thats all I can offer you out of this. You will be able to have faction specific weapons and flag poles, but I will not be able to do that for you. You might need to ask Wangrin on how to do this if your really interested in doing this (it would be a lot of work and effort to do this, probably not worth what un-noticeable detail it will be).
SO, I will upload a pack for the drums for you soon![]()
Thanks but you can take your time. L'Aigle will be busy for a week or two, and he's the one making the texture.
I have uploaded a test version for the campaign.
It's not really playable (don't expect to play a long campaign with it, since you will not be able to recruit many units if you are not French or British). I'd like some testers to give it a try, playing mostly as France and Britain, to see if the 3 added generals for France (Lannes, Soult and Lasalle) are working properly, both when played by a player, and when played by the AI (perhaps you can try to play as Wurtemberg since the French generals are just a little west of you). Try to move, fight, play at least a few turns, save, try to load and continue...
To add the generals I tried to cheat a little with the startpos, so I want to be sure this method is working before going further, and we don't have a big bug, a crash or a corrupted saved game later.
So this test is really a technical test, don't expect nice balanced AI, or fun to play campaign.
Just one little thing which could make things easier:
- in the scripting.lua for the campaign, you might add, right under "local function OnFactionTurnStart(context)"
--Plus de brouillard de guerre (no more fog of war)
scripting.game_interface:show_shroud(false)
This way, you see the entire map and you'll be able to see if the AI is having problem with the spawned generals.
Hope it'll help!
PS: the line starting with -- is just a comment to remember what "scripting.game_interface:show_shroud(false)" do, you don't have to use it if you don't want to.
Just a small recommendation is that when in custom battles, is it possible to make it more clear which era is selected? It's noticeable but its very very subtle.
Unfortunately, I lost my original lua for this UI, I just have the compiled version. So I cannot change it easily unless I spend quite sometime redoing it.
I'm not too familiar with LUA and LUAC, that means that one can't just add the line I've given in the LUA if I understand correctly?
I think there's another way to remove the fog of war by modifying a value in startpos, going to look for it as it makes the matters of checking how the AI is behaving much easier.
This was for empire total war but I guess this could work in NTW:
"
You'll need the ESF file editor from TWC.net. Use it to open a game saved on the first turn. Go to campaign_env/world/faction_array and open the first faction array. Highlight CAMPAIGN_SHROUD and change it to FALSE. Save and restart the game. The FOW will now be gone.
"
I´m in for campaign.Where´s the DL link Stephy please?
Same as for the full version, in the opening post.
You need to get an update of the main, the new portraits pack, update of the loc file, and the new zip for the campaign folder
Ok thanks.Im running the campaign as French.Im going to update this post everytime i found something like a bug or so.
1.Im only able to run Napoleons Europe campaign by clicking on Grand camp. im getting CTD.
2.all of my french units on camp.map navy included are reporting in english when clicking on them.
3.by making diplomacy with Osmanli Devleti no answer is displayed in the window only "Missing String" shows up. But the trade was agreed between the countrys.
-Mecklenburg,Denmark,Hessen,Portugal the same "missing string" ok so only the bigger states are included for now.Ive got it
4.As said i play as french when il mark all my army on the battlefield they reporting in german. "Befehle werden befolgt!" sounds funny from a french army
-even single units are reporting in german.Befehle werden befolgt and sofort! semms to be their favourite ones.
5.2nd Lancers,Cuirassiers(Lorrraine) is this name of the unit correct? only asking because i see that the unit on the battlefield are Cuirassiers but they are marked with this name which includes 2nd Lancers
Ill report everything what i see ok?You can choose from it what you need at this point.
Please dont take me for stupid if im reporting something that was already told here.I was few days away so i dont know the news here.![]()

Good points.
1. Yes, play ONLY USING THE GRAND CAMPAIGN, including if you want to play as France!
2. Unfortunately, CA poorly managed the voices. It is not possible to specify the language for a unit, but only a faction. In the Peninsular campaign, the Portuguese units of the British player are speaking Portuguese, but it was harcoded. My work around was for the moment to force English as the language to every faction, but then to add language specific folders inside the English folder (so I ahve a English/French, English/English, English/German, etc). This way, I can have the KGL speaking german, and the French are speaking French although the French faction language is ... English. It can be corrected later, by giving again the correct language to each faction, but then if you want to keep the voices of units, you need to duplicate all the language subfolder. And so you'd have a "English/English", "English/French", and a "French/English", "French/French".
Very heavy solution, but until CA makes a patch to allow specifying the Language in the unit table, there is no other solution. So I suppose we'll be stuck with that for a long time....
For the unit, I can specify unit by unit what sound to use, and so force it to use French voices even with an English faction language. But for the campaign voices, it is only the type of agent (general). So all the general uses the same voices, it can change only with different faction language.
To sum up, it is normal at this point that all the campaign (and naval) voices are in English.
Since the voices can be a rather large download, at some point later we will probably explain how to have fully specific language, including for navy and campaign, but it may require some manual copy of folder, and an optional "language activator" (a small patch).
Just to explain why: if we really want to do that, it means that each language voices (at least 10 languages) are copied in every faction folder.
So it means the size of the download is 10 times bigger, and just for duplicates!
Also, keep it mind that this is a very early test campaign. Many things are not implemented yet. So please focus on checking that the 3 new generals are working properly, and it does not create a crash or unstable save at some point.
If I can be sure of that, then I'll carry on with my work on the generals (and agents) to have correct name and potrait for most of them, including generals and admirals in the recruitment pool, and also add more preplaced generals.
For this latest part, it will be done progressively, first with France (LAnnes, Soult and Lasalle added) and England (Picton, Beresford and Paget added). I'll do the other later when we have their unit lists.
I will also publish during the list a link to a page with every generals (and agents), with their portrait, and the traits and command attribute they currently have (CA choices). I'm open to critics and suggestion if you think the rating should be modified, or the traits changed.
I will also propose better names for the traits. Some are a little ridiculous I think, like "Corporal in golden braid" for the first level of "Infantry general".
I'd also like to give every general a "corps", like "Infantry, Artillery or Cavalry". Level 1 at least, and bonuses for the best of them.
Ok understood.Im focusing on the generals, battles, saves, loadings etc. Give me some time and il report back after few hours.
Il continue to update my first post up here.

Can you be more specific? This is not normal. It is in battle, not in campaign? When exactly does this happen? Setup ? During battle?
Or may be if you use a group formation?
I don't see how it can happen when selecting individual units since we tested that a lot. May be a few forgotten unit/event combination, but it shouldn't be very common.
Ok.I play the Napoleons Campaigns Europe.Ive attacked Kleve-Mark holded by Sharnhorst. This happens during the battle.By marking the whole army together and also by single units. When i order a unit of Cuirassiers for example they report everytime something else.Sometimes in frech but sometimes in german and even in english. Befehle werden befolgt! Sofort! & At the double! in english.
I cannot play in this line. Single player/Grand Campaign -this ends with CTD
Can only play Single Player/Napoleons Campaigns/Europe -so my reports are from here.
Sorry if i messed up here something. For easyer chat you can find me at steam under the same name as here if you want im online allday.
http://stephane.f.david.free.fr/NTW/portraits.htm
This page shows information about the leaders and generals, with portraits, and also all the traits "in game" or in the startpos (this is for me to help find the mapping between startpos and db as it's not obvious).
I'd appreciate if you can browse through this and make trait change suggestions.
It can be
- To change the name of some traits
- To give/remove traits to some generals
- To modify the level of a trait.
- To modify their command attribute
