The real reason is for updates. If I want to correct for instance one spelling mistake, I can upload only the localisation file, and you have to download only a 1 Mb file to get it, and not the whole 704 Mb.
When l'Aigle has finished the Prussians, I'll add a new pack for them and you'll get them with just this new pack and an update of the main (total around 30 Mb I guess) instead of 734 Mb, etc.

There is not need to upload and download again large parts of the mod which are not changed at all when you do minor updates or add a new faction.

When the mod is finished, I may reduce the number of files, or at least propose a large zip including everything. But we are still months away from that.

I support modular system too. It's efficient, innovative and economical.

Thanks Prince for the indispensable research. (Do you know what's the colour for Italian Sash?)
Pictures I have seen show red edged green (see attached drawings of awards) & also in some cases a gold sash (though I think that was more for more for civilian officials).

PS - enjoy your rest... your efforts are much appreciated.

Is there a difference between Naples and Siciliy? This is a general question, not only for the generals.

Yes - those General uniforms are for the Bourbons (who were forced out to Sicily) not for Joseph Bonaparte/Joachim Murat forces; I will post those for the Bonapartist faction later.

Uniforms were different as well - fortunately I now have very good info on both.

I need to be more specific. Since we have multiple periods in custom battle, I'd like to give to later Neapolitan units "Murat" style, and to earlier units, the style they had under Ferdinand, when Naples was part of the 3rd coalition.

In campaign, I will have several styles of units recruitable in Naples. The standard one (Ferdinand) for the Naples faction, evolving later into the "Murat" style.
The French will be able to recruit only the Murat style directly.

So, the question is more in 1805, did the uniform for Naples differ from the uniform of Sicily?

The answer to your question is a NO - but obviously the Bourbon uniforms in Sicily became different once the mainland was under "French" control.

Are you thinking of a separate line of evolution for Sicily?

Naples (Joseph & Murat era) attached - more to come....

First two are for late period circa 1812-1815; last two on top line are before Murat took over; bottom line is that of an Adjutant-General 1812-15.

Well, at least there will be a common uniform for Sicily and Naples in 1805, and then a different uniform for Naples under French control.
Then, an evolution of the Sicilian uniforms to get late war version will depends on the amount of change.

For example with the Rhine conferacy, Wurttemberg will get two styles of uniforms (going from the helmet to the Shako), while for Bavaria we considered the changes are relatively small, so the base unit will not change, although some units will be available only for certain periods (like Ulhan introduced in 1813).

We have to make a compromise between historical inaccuracy (we have to introduce uniforms change for Saxony in 1810 since there were major changes, and just keeping old style in 1815 would look very weird), and the time needed to make the textures, the memory size used up by too many atlases, and then the number of units to put in the db to accomodate the different uniforms (especially since our regional recruitment limits will also multiply the units).

So we try to make new uniform version when it is needed, but we avoid it if the changes are really minors.

Point very well made - for info Two Sicilies examples:

    Bottom line 1810 onwards

I think faction specific drums would be a fine addition to this mod, and I could show you guys how to add them (+ give you the necessarily files) to do it

It's also a bigger and better drum mesh, allowing for 2 variable textures per faction

We are interested by that, and also by faction specific weapons and/flag. If you can provide the necessary files and instruction, I'd be most happy.

For the drums and weapons, I think it's possible, but I didn't really know where to start, I'm not sure I have the necessary tools anyway.
For the flag, there seems to be a solution, but it requires a "static" flag, and I'm not sure it gives a result I'd like

omg this is brilliant, i didn't know that was possible. faction specific weapons all the way. does this mean that we may be seeing wheellock carbines for russian dragoons and old style doglock muskets for civilian/fort millitia?

I'm busy with the portraits and name of generals and ministers at the moment, and I have done nothing about traits yet. Later, I'll compile all the existing traits in a "design page", so we can discuss and debate the traits.
I think it may be particulary interesting for some minor factions, I think they just have completly average ministers for instance.

And perhaps some of the traits for general needs to be revised.

Could you awnser my question please?

Also regarding drummers, are you going to add the fur that was placed between the drum and the person to reduce bruising?

I don't know yet for the carbin. I'm waiting for Splenyi explanation. For the moment,I don't know how to control what weapon goes to what soldier. All the muskets seems to be randomly used by every unit.

For the drummer, no we won't since it's not part of the mesh, and all the musician are using the same uniform.
