Default Kingdom of Georgia - Sakartvelos Samepho - საქართველოს სამეფო

    let's go:

this is map of Kingdom of Georgia ( Sakartvelos Samepho ) at 1310 and royal family information. other fully complected informations I will give next time.

in 1310 east Georgia was wassal of Il Khanids , but west Georgia was fully independant state. later, in 1327-30 AD great Georgian king Giorgi V Bagrationi ( the the Brilliant ) unite the country, recovered the independance from Il Khans and reconstructed the Imperial Power over the all Caucasus and sphere the influence over the Trabizond Empire, rise of international prestige of Georgia, even among the western European countries .

Georgia in the times of David VIII Bagrationi, et 1310.

Georgia after the unification by the Giorgi V the Brilliant ( reighn 1314-1346), before the Tamerlans invide.

Royal family info at 1310 west Georgia:

    Constantine I of Imereti

    dinasty: House of Bagrationi

Constantine I of Imereti (კონსტანტინე I) (died 1327), from the House of Bagrationi, was king of the western Georgian kingdom of Imereti from 1293 to 1327.
Son of the Georgian king David VI Narin by his first wife Tamar, Konstantini succeeded to throne of Imereti, a large portion of Georgia, upon his father's death in 1293. In spite of having the title of the “King of Kartvelians and Abkhazians, etc”, he actually reigned only over the western part of Georgia and held court at Kutaisi. He remained independent from Mongol rule, but faced serious internal problems. Unsuccessful in a civil war with his younger brother Mikeli, he lost the provinces of Racha and upper Imereti to the rebel prince.
He died in 1327, having had no children, and his brother Mikeli succeeded him as the king.

Royal family of east Georgia, wassal of Il Khans:

    David VIII of Georgia

    dinasty: House of Bagrationi

David VIII (დავით VIII in Georgian) (1273–1311), from the Bagrationi dynasty, was king of Georgia in 1293–1311.
Eldest son of Demetre II the Self-sacrificing, he was appointed by the Ilkhan ruler Gaikhatu as king of Georgia as reward for his military service during the Rümelian uprising in 1293. Succeeding his cousin Vakhtang II, David's rule actually extended only over the eastern part of the kingdom, whereas western Georgia had been under the Imeretian branch of the House of Bagrationi since 1259.
In 1295, he supported Baidu Khan in an internal conflict in the Ilkhanate. However, Baidu was killed and Ghazan became a khan. Ghazan ordered the Georgian king to arrive to his capital Tabriz. Remembering the fate of his father, David refused to comply and began preparations for war. Ghazan Khan responded with a punitive expedition, and ravaged the country. Supported by the Mongols, Ossetes attacked Shida Kartli province and occupied the Liakhvi gorge. David entrenched himself in the Mtiuleti mountains and defeated a large Mongol force in a desperate guerilla fighting at Tsikare. Then, the Khan declared him deposed and appointed David's younger brother Giorgi V as king in 1299.
Although backed by the Mongol forces, the power of Giorgi did not extend out of the Georgian capital Tbilisi, and the Khan replaced him by another brother, Vakhtang III, in 1302. The new king led a Mongol army against David, but could not penetrate deeply into the largely mountainous provinces held by the rebels, and a truce was negotiated. David was recognized as joint sovereign with his brother and received the princedom of Alastani in the southern province of Javakheti. He developed friendly relations with the Egyptian Mamluks, the traditional rivals of the Ilkhanate, and, mediated by Byzantium, achieved the restoration of the Monastery of the Cross in Jerusalem to the Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church in 1305.
He was succeeded by his son Giorgi VI the Little in 1311.

Default Re: Kingdom of Georgia - Sakartvelos Samepho - საქართველოს სამეფო

about the unit roster of georgian faction.

for the moment of duree of XIV c. , the unit roster of Georgia should be :

    units by class -

    LEVY units class
    FEUDALS and SERVANTS units class
    ROYAL -Regular soldier class
    ELITE units class
UNIQUE ( factional ) units class
MERCENERIES , which able recruited for georgian faction in Georgian national and neyboring regions

and units by military typs -

    INFANTRY
    CAVALRY
    MISSILE

so, lets arrange the units lits by this scheme:

    LEVIES -

unit: Glekhi ( the peasant )
    Molashqre ( free volunteer )

this class of units recruited by general mobilisation, but they were not the class, which usual profession was military duty. the equipment of this units was a bit same, but the motivation and moral of free volunteers was more high, than of peasants.

    FEUDALS and SERVANTS -

Msakhureuli ( servant of feudals and king ) - this class was reacruited among the great feudals servants. thay were man sans feudal title.

Aznauri - feudal title, a little feudal in Georgia, general military class in georgia. they were servants of great feudals - tavad's, servants of King and servants of Church. it was 3 social group of Aznaurs:
Samepho Aznauri - who belongs and servants of the King
Satavado Aznauri - who belong the servants of the Tavadi ( great feudal )
Saeklesio Aznauri - who belong and servant of the Church's

Tavadi - great feudal in Georgia, which have arisen in XIV c. and after among the ancien Eristavs class.

Tavadi, Mtavari, Eristavi and Eristavt-Eristavi - great feudals class , deferents by the govermental posts. for exmpl:

Tavadi was great feudal, such as count, which posseded fief with the the Aznaurs, peasants and servants.
Mtavari was such Prince, was chef of SAMTAVRO, the principality.
Eristavi was feudal administrator post, who granted by the King for the rulle of some province.
Eristavt-Eristavi was a governor of great region, which combines several important provinces.

    ROYAL-REGULARS

    Metsikhovne ( garrison guard )
Samepho Spa ( Royal Soldiers )

    * Spa - mean ,,Soldiers,,
    *Samepho - mean ,,Royal,,

    * Monaspa, such as division of georgian army not found in historical records after XIII c. , so, I think this military unit for the XIV c. georgian army was transformed by other unit - Samepho Spa, but with same equipment and military knowledge.

    ELITE -

    Tadzreuli - Royal personal guard.

    UNIQUE -

Khevsurebi - georgian highlanders, sub-georgian ethnic group, the fanatics warriors and free men, sans feudals duties. They were loyal only to the Georgian king, but without any feudal obligations. They lived in mountainous, inaccessible provinces in eastern Georgia. in Georgia's history, none of the feudal lords could not subdue them. they served to the Georgian king during in his military campaigns, and only call for the king, gathered his squad for the defense of the homeland.
they were excellent swordsmen and possess unique combat techniques of fencing, and most importantly, in battle they know no fear, fanatically fought against the enemies.

Svani Monadire - excellent hunters and warriors from western highland georgian province Svaneti. Svans are sub-georgian ethnic group, such as Khevsurs, Kakhetians, Megrels and etc.
this warriors can very well ambush against the enemies and and apply them to a sudden and fatal blow with missile weapons.

    MERCENERIES -

Roqis Spa - Ossetian, Durzuk and Circassian tribe warriors, free merceneries, who many times was hired by the Georgian kings. thay were as infantry and as cavalry too.

now arrange them by the types and value of military knowledge :

    * I write the names in singular form. for exmp: Glekh-i is singular form and Glekh-ebi is plural form of same word.

    INFANTRY

    1. Glekhi - peasant
    2. Molashqre http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...583274794n.jpg
    3. Roqis Spa ( infantry ) - merceneries from the caucasian and anatolian regions
    3. Msakhureuli http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...471945183n.jpg
    4. Metsikhovne http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...664954264n.jpg
    5. Chukhchi ( Georgian royal palace guard infantry, elite unit ) - http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...561646854o.jpg
    6. Khevsurta Lashqari http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...734562786n.jpg

    CAVALRY

    7. Moisarta Mkhedrioni http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...677051924n.jpg
    8. Roqis Spa - merceneries from the caucasian and anatolian regions
    9. Khevsurt Mkhedroba ( light cavalry ) http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...734562786n.jpg
    9. Aznaurta Mkhedroba http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...537784494o.jpg
    10. Eristavta Mkhedroba http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...571227916o.jpg
    11. Samepho Spa http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...696885759o.jpg
    12. Tadzreuli http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...751896423o.jpg

    * Mkhedari ( in singular form ) mean ,,cavalryman,,

    MISSILE

    13. Molashqre Mshvildosani http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...595601320n.jpg
    14. Metsikhovne Mshvildosani http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...655816513n.jpg
    15. Mtielebi ( Georgian highlanders tribesman ) - http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...607097440n.jpg
    16. Svani Monadire http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...745965152n.jpg or

    georgian king http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...635601941o.jpg

Georgian captain you can name as ,,Spaspeti,, and Georgian General you can name as ,,Mkhedartmtavari,, ( this word by word means ,,chef of cavalry,,, because the cavalryman was considered in georgia such as true soldier, who's profession was a war )

this is my opinion about the Georgian unit roster of XIV c. and about the equpment of this units I will publish the full information, with the graphic concept, after several days.
