    Default Shorter Reload Time

I read once that line units would be able to fire 3 shots per minute typically. In ETW, units reload their weapons, then stand there shoving ramrods into their barrels for another 25 seconds, over and over again. It CAN'T take that long to shove a ball down an unrifled tube, so is it possible to make them shove it down once, maybe twcie at most?

I was at a friend's house and got permission to spend the night there, when I felt that I'd made the wrong choice and prayed about it being the right one to stay at the friend's house. I still felt it wasn't, so I called for a ride home. I got home seven minutes after my mother died. Don't ing tell me that there is no God.

yes, it is possible and easily doable. It is actually exact thing i have boon working on for next version of my mods. All you need to do is reduce reload stats in projectile db. In my files, for musket i use 15 instead of 30; Rifle has 30 instead of 60-70... Graphically it looks fine - checked Line infantry and they rammed three times, then fired. much more realistic look, plus you get historically correct number of salvos at attacking enemy, not just one or two - attacking column would get hit at least 4-5 times by defending unit until closed in. plus, battle gameplay is more dynamic, making battles fun to play.

Thanks. Maybe in addition it could be used to make the AI fire, instead of just charging? Either way, thanks.

yeah the increased reload speed might trick the ai into choosing shooting over charging as the increased rate might give increased casulties so the ai picks that.

    worth a go i suspose

sry, but the DBEditor is not working for me. Could you make the shorter reload time as a mod file and post it here? it would be wery nice.

Well, I can't, as I've had mixed results. For line units, they rammed it down 4 times instead of 10 or so, but since 4 is still too manyI tried to reduce it again. Then they went back to their old number and I can't get them to do 4 again.

But they must pull the ramrod out, ram in 1-2 times, and then put it back into its... how is it called?

indeed, 4 rams instead of 17 (i counted it) are really historical accurate.

ps: the long reloading is a gameplay element, to give cavalry time to charge, otherwise they would be ground down.

Or cav units could be decent sized, or maybe since cav was barely used by most factions and the AI still doesn't know how to use it, it could be left alone.

The point is though, even with the values set EXACTLY as they were when it was four instead of 17, they still do it 17 times.

Nope, I have AUM installed, but there's nothing in it that overwrites the musket projectile things, it only adds a few shotgun-type weapons.

We need a mod.pack! (or better, a patch) is there no one who can do this?

Arthur Dent just a thought, maybe try again with fresh files, limit the mods your running(for trouble shooting purposes) and leave your mod as your latest entry (which of the last two, you probably have already done). Just remember don't panic! Also, would you like to share with us what files you modded with what settings you used, what corrections you were trying make, what mods are you using and their order? So, folks viewing this thread might give it a go and if anyone is successful they can share the mod with you and should give you and JaM a rep!

If successful, to whoever please share the mod with the rest TWC community and users please give rep or reps to whoever it's due and remember to obtain permission from the modder then credit the member if you use it as part of another mod.

The usual routine but I thought should post that bit for
are bright new members and lurkers out there. We know you are out there come join us. btw If you don't have enough posts or time on the boards, make rep list or search through your posts and see who you owe when time comes. Is it noticeable that I really want this mod!

I will reverify and try again, this time I'll make sure I save the 4-jam reload at least so that I can come back.

Nope, I didn't. The odd thing is, it's named the same, but he said that muskets have 30 base stat, while in my file they have 20.
