I'm just assuming it will be released on the last day of the month. Why the impatience and haste? The longer they take the better it will be

Some of us have waited 20 years for a truly great Gempei War game. We don't mind waiting a little bit longer

I think its should be 4 seasons per year as same as Shogun 2

Maybe 60 years same as Shogun 2, ROTS take years around 1135-1190 [just guess because Gempei War end around 1192] while Sengoku Jidai end in 1600 [actually 1601 with last stand of Toyotomi clan] started from 1545.

    P.S. my opinion
It's easy to go for war, but it wasn't easy when we needed to ask for peace.

I think it starts in 1175, which is the year the narrator in the trailer mentioned.

Ah interesting, start in 1175 and end in around 1185, only 10 years [and there 5 years of battle from all 10 years]

I wonder how they're going to handle turns(yea dejavu) .. maybe 2 months a turn?.. they need to clarify this a bit.. I don't want to play somethign that feels like it's rushing me..

maybe month per turn? 10 years = 120 turns, still too short and seems rush. maybe they expand the war period to 1155 - 1185. The Gempei War is only 5 years battle though, half month per turn? that double to 240 turns which pretty equal to Shogun 2 but with this handled turn, your son will come so lately of an age....... your Daimyo will almost not die from natural cause.

Seems it does start in 1175 from the trailer but perhaps it goes beyond 1185. The conquest of the Hiraizumi Fujiwara in Mutsu took place in 1189 and there were various other uprisings after that leading up to the Jōkyū War in 1221.

My guess would be that it covers a good, clean 25 years from 1175 to 1200.

Have they revealed what all the new units are yet? All I can find are the foot samurai, sword attendant, and the heroes/agents.

In terms of size and content I can call this the first true expansion of TW since kingdoms.
I didn't see the campaign of peninsula and the warpath campaigns as a true expansion as this one.
you might disagree but I really would go for this once it is realeased on discs.

I disagree. This isn't an expansion, it never was it has always been DLC. It's size is also comparable to the Peninsula Campaign DLC.

Still wondering what they're going to do for all the new units. Especially the naval ones. For normal S2TW I counted 15 naval units not including redundant Mori or Wako ships, and 4 of them are gunpowder-using ships. So apparently they are adding just about as many new ships as there are old ones of the same general type. If they aren't doing the "same thing but with a faction name in front of it thing" (most units in the game appear to be variations of the same thing with different clan ownerships) then that means we get a lot of unique goodies.

If they could make a new campaign map for this DLC they sure can make a bigger map of Japan like a Rome Mundus Magnus, for another DLC. Only way that Oda clan can have a decent chance of lasting more than one turn....

Gempei War was an interesting era, but not that interesting for me so I'm not even gonna bother buying it!!

as I said by comparing this campaign with the original. I find it much close to the original. as for the Peninsula Campaign it matches any mini campaign in napolean like the egytion and the italian campaign.

but yes it is a dlc untill they release it in a disk form.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but will the provincial 'clan alignment' just replace religion? Pretty much sounds like it.

of course it's much closer to the original with the virtually untouched map, but as far as content it's by no means '' expansion standard '' at least, not one that's comparable to past boxed expansion packs(the invasion themed once of hte past and Kingdoms comes to mind). Then again, CA might change my mind tomorrow.. we'll see.
