The answer I was looking for was: Manius Acilius Glabrio.
To my knowledge there were only 4 battles at Thermopylae within a valid time period for this forum, the famous battle in 480 BC where Leonidas lost to the Persians, one in 353 BC, one in 279 BC where Brennus of Gaul attacked the Greeks, unsuccessfully, the battle in the year 191BC, where the Roman consul Manius Acilius Glabrio defeated Antiochus III of the selucid empire, the last battle within the ancient time period was fought in 267AD, where the romans lost to the goths. Therefore the only time where men from the were succesful at Thermopylae was the battle in 191BC under the leadership of Glabrio. Those who answered Themistocles, i believe that you are wrong as he fought at Artemisium whilst the battle of thermoylae was going on, and there the fighting reached a stalemate, not a victory, hard luck.

I could have become first man in Rome as a tribune of the plebs with a huge clientele
However, I was opposed by many, including my own brother-in-law
My laws were declared invalid and I was assassinated
