Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...
Keep ADWD in the othering thread dudes. It isn't that hard.
Watching the 5th episode, don't really care about the series anymore, but...
Is it just me or Tywin's acting has really degraded from the first season?
And, wtf... Tywin smiles!
And the switching of sides of Renly's army was really bad. It looked really low-budget. For example, it didn't show how a huge part of Renly's men chose not to follow Stannis.

Horrible episode. Amazing how quickly a series can degrade. Still watching just hoping there will be something interesting but it's just 40 minutes of boredom and 5 minutes of being annoyed.
I had something witty to say in my head but I forgot it.

This was not well done. The same complaint remains: there are too many characters and too many story archs and not enough time to flesh them all out. The result becomes almost comedic: from the perspective of people who've never read the books, Brienne was just introduced 5 minutes ago and now she's crying over. It makes no sense to the common viewer.Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Tywin exchange of looks with Arya was great, that was the best thing of the episode, I didn't see Tywin smile.Harrenhal feels quite different compared to the books, but the storyline there is really great, the only thing that I didn't like there was the name chosen, The Tickler's scene in ASOS is one of the best of the whole series.I enjoyed Theon and Bran too.
For all the rest, I agree.Qarth was much less interesting, Renly's scene was bad (no Loras in an Achilles rage sucked) and even Tyrion's story was just decent. While it might be true that the show suffers from too many story archs, sometimes I feel they don't use their time well.I don't get why certain details that define and make the characters intersting are changed for no reason.

Why is it that Loras and Renly both look like complete wimps? I mean they were not described as thin or very effamate in the books. Hell I bet I could kick that actor they have for Loras ass and yet he's supposed to be playing one of the best knights in the realm? One would have thought wielding sword and lance would have built some muscle and make him look less like a spoilt brat... Renly was supposed to be a spitting image of his brother and Robert was as strong as an oak yet he too look nothing like a soldier. Both of these two are badly cast in my opinion.
He looks better this season but yeah, way too scrawny to think of him as a great warrior. Renley looks like a freaking child pretty much.

Anyone know who will play the wildling girl Snow meets?

Loras is a pretty boy tournament knight and one of the best swordsmen in Westeros. He isn't described as being a great and powerful warrior; I believe he is even described as slender framed in the books. He is the very definition of Catelyn's "Knights of Summer." So I really like his casting personally. I agree with your Renly comment as I did say something similar early in the thread.

"When did you know you were a lesbian?" "Easy, when I started to lick her box."
Can a lesbian say anything hotter... I don't think so.
Nothing will beat season 1 for drama, scriptwriting and acting. Season 2 is way too rushed.
Again, too many characters and story arcs. They're doing all of this build up and I keep waiting for something to happen, but nothing comes. Half of this season so far has just been build up.
What was the deal with that sealed vault in Qarth? They didn't explain that well at all.
So Xaro has a sealed vault in his house, and he doesn't know whats behind it but he suspects its a lot of treasure, and he has a key to the vault around his neck...but yet for some reason he paid thieves to try and pry it open....?
