The torrent from PirateBay has exactly the same files as the individual files.
I just checked your post - you are using Steam. Did you change the path of the installation?
Please check where your installation is. It should be in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war
To do so, simply right click the desktop icon of CoW, choose 'properties' and copy the line from the 'target' entry here.

I installed everything into the steam folder,

    this is my target line,

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\Call_of_Warhammer\Executable.bat"

I suspect some kind of error in connection with the steam launcher. I would suggest to go directly to the page of the application and post your question there.

    Just two quick questions:
    1. did you run the steam launcher application as administrator?
    2. did you make sure to select 'kingdoms' when running the steam launcher application? - step 2 here

Edit: if either of the answers is 'NO' run the steam launcher application again.

Yup I have done everything according to your instructions, yet I still get the CA_LIBS error. I must be missing some files or something as I canno't understand the cfg thing you are talking about.

    Thanks

Sometimes the CA_LIBS error is caused by a faulty CFG file (C:\...\Medieval II Total War\medieval2.preference.cfg) - you can safely delete this file, the game generates a new one.

If that doesn't help then you will have to go to the application page (Squid is the developer of the tool).

    UPDATE

Found a couple of trait and ancillary errors (EDA and EDCT). Corrected some in descr_strat as well.

In the second post as usual.

Can you list the errors in descr_strat ? i have a modified one with many changes.
Or maybe just say which factions had some characters with errors ?

    Thanks for your work

There are two trait entries that are missing a comma after the entry. The trait and level: man 1

And the spelling of reiksmarshall needs a capital R, one incident.
One instance of FactionHeir, the capital H needs to be small

Those last two are probably not really errors, but I like to do some good housekeeping.

OK there was a lack of "," before "man 1", two times.

Is it normal that you didn't add "man 1" to rebels human characters ?
for example Grim and Odovacar (sub faction hre), etc.

No idea - I didn't change anything, that's still the original descr_strat minus those errors.

This is what squid said, hmm I am really confused now as too what could be causing the error.

Gigantus what can you tell me about the CB_LIBS error?

I have done a Google search for that on twcenter and tried to dig myself through it.
Some results suggested that regenerating the CFG file helps.
    Others suggest a complete re-install of Med2.

So let's take care of those first.
    1. The CFG file is here: C:\...\Medieval II Total War\medieval2.preference.cfg - delete and try to start
    2. Can you run the main game and the kingdom campaigns?

If that doesn't work, run CoW until crash, compress and upload your log - you will find it here: C:\...\Medieval II Total War\logs\M2TW.system.log.txt

Came across this response from Irishron.
    Read this thread.
This was a rather drastic solution.

Sometimes it can be corrupt files in the data\text folder or a messed up CFG of the mod.
The attachment 'txt' contains all the files from the data\text folder - extract into ...\mods\Call_of_Warhammer\data\text
The attachment Call_of_Warhammer contains teh CFG and BAT file - extract into ...\mods\Call_of_Warhammer

Well I deleted the file for the fourth time today and it actually worked this time. I don't know why this time, but it worked, albeit in russian. So now ill get the language to work and tell you how it goes, thanks a lot for the help Gigantus.

Ok I discovered something. All this time I was opening the launcher through steam and the kingdoms game. All this time it gave me the error when I tried to open the game. What I did just now was to open the launcher through the vanilla game in steam, since you asked me to try out both, and voila! this time it works. Really odd not sure why but it works. Now I hope it won't crash!

    Thanks!

I just sacrificed two chickens and a goat as a token of relief.

Please let Squid know as well, just in case it has any relevance for his application.

Edit: I only have a steam install for ETW, can you please explain exactly how you proceeded? Which icon\button you clicked in what sequence.

I didn't do anything special if you are referring to my issue. All I did was double click on the vanilla MTW instead of the KMTW. This automatically opens the launcher. What I find interesting is that you can play the kingdom campaigns from the launcher whether you start vanilla or kingdoms but not the mod.

What I have done is go into the properties of kingdom, then go into local files, then verified the integrity of the game cache and finally defragmented the cache files. Yet I have only done this on the kingdom game not the vanilla. This is all I can think off for steam, to be honest I am not too sure why some things work why others don't!

I have a question though, in my steamapps folder I only have a medieval ii folder not a kingdom folder. What I have though is a mod folder with the four kingdom campaigns, so is that right?

Edit: Btw thank you very much Gigantus for your help, it was most welcome.
