How do I change Casse general chariots to Gallic general cavalry?
How do I change Casse general chariots to Gallic general cavalry?
why do you want to change them ????
they are better if you know how to use them well , use you chariots to run thrue the enemys . I suggest you contact a modder
I want to change them because it would be fun. I changed them last year, but I don't remember what exactly I did in the EDU file. That's what I used. Now I get a cdt and a message that says along the line that "unit must be unique" and it lists the gallic general.
I've figured it out. Simply copy and paste all of the chieftain brihentin over the cidah bodyguard unit for casse, but under type, keep it as celtic chariot.

Although you already found the solution yourself, I'd still like to comment on this, as there is actually much more to this subject than what you did (and by saying that, my intention is not to disparage your method; rather, I think it would be good to examine this matter in-depth).
First, I have to admit that the method you described is really the easiest and best way to change it (I would have suggested it myself too if you hadn't already found the solution). It is especially useful in this particular case, as EB already has the unit card & info picture of the Brihentin for Casse as well. Of course, you could also remove the Cidainh bodyguard unit from the game and either make a completely new unit, or just enable the existing Gallic Brihentin bodyguard unit for Casse, but these actions might cause some problems (you would have to modify a few other files too, and not just the EDU). So the method you used is the easiest there is because it is very simple compared to those others.
However, there is still one very minor problem in the method you used, as well. I'm not sure whether or not the bodyguard Cidainh reply anything when you select the unit (as I've never played as Casse), but as this replying is tied to the unit type entry in the export_descr_unit, they will nevertheless not reply in the same way as their Gallic counterparts (whose type entry is "proper" for a certain other file the game uses, unlike the one you modified). Then again, this is a very minor problem like I said, and it won't probably bother you much. But you can PM me if you'd like to know how to enable the Brihentin reply for your Casse bodyguard unit (or you can also ask in this thread of course).

I'm also interested too!!!
Alright, I'll explain it here.
You only actually need to modify one file. This file is called export_descr_sounds_units_voice, and it is located in the same folder where your EDU is.
In this file, search for unit celtic cavalry brihentin. Under that entry is the line Brihentin.wav. Copy this Brihentin.wav, and then search for unit celtic chariot cidainh bodyguards (I assume you still use this in the EDU as the type of your Casse bodyguards). Needless to say, it's imperative that it is specifically the unit celtic chariot cidainh bodyguards, not the ordinary cidainh listed above it.
Under this bodyguard cidainh entry is located the line Cidainh.wav. Now all you need to do is paste the Brihentin.wav there so that it replaces the Cidainh.wav, and then save the file.
There you go, now your Casse bodyguards should also reply "Briii-hen-tin!" when you click on them.
