This has another topic about trading, but as it dont get post for a week, I´m starting this.

I have ports, boats in every sea division (really, in all seas), and trading posts in my costal provinces, so as mines and other complex in the game, but my income is almost inexpresive.

How to get it working? Another point: Trading can be made only by sea?

    Thanks.

No idea why the lack of money, but without boats yes you can still trade, it will just be very minimal.

Do you only have trading posts, or do you have merchants? You need merchants (especially master merchants) to reel in the big money.

Also how many port provinces do you have? If you only have a few and they don't have valuable trading goods that can be a source. Also if you have most of the ports your trade income goes down because you can't trade with yourself for some reason in this game.

You also cannot trade with factions that you are at war with.
And all the sea areas between trading ports must be free of enemies navy vessels.
Also each trading partners province must have a port.

    Thanks a lot.

I was without alliances. Once I made a few my income grew in a amazing rate. Now my Flandres provinces has the highest income. I´m upgrading my trading posts too. The provinces that don´t have resouses or goods I left only to farming.

There is a manner to know the trade amount we have with an especific faction? The question is for purpouses of choice of allies when they wage war.

To get information on your trading provinces and their respective trading partners just click on the coin icon in the bottom left hand corner. A list of your provinces will be displayed, along with their income and expenses. Then click on the province you wish to find out more about. This will show a list of the other faction provinces that your province is currently trading with, the type of goods traded and the amount that is collected each turn.

    Hope this helps.

Alliances can get you a big plus in trading.

That's how I have about 12000 florins/year income ONLY from Constantinople.
(I have added 2 new trade goods, and the boats are in the distant Baltic Sea)

But you also have to remember that both partners need a port and trading post, and it takes the AI quite a few years to build that far, so in the early game, concentrate on geting farms upgraded in provs with high farming income, then in the later game build up trade.
