Income:
Senator Pay = 5,000 Denarii
Consul Pay = 10,000 Denarii
5 Small Farms (8 Slaves Applied) = 6,750 Denarii
Isn't the farms income meant to be 1250 instead of 6.750? Your base income 5000: 5000*0.25= 1250 - You are making them separate incomes...

OOC: As much as I hate being right, I think that you are right with the general gist of it. However, your mathematics is incorrect, as I have a base income of 15000 (Senator and Consul), and also the rate at which you have applied the bonus. You see, each slave adds 0.005 (.5%) to the productivity of the farm, thus 8*0.005=0.04 (4%) total, which when added to the 0.05 (5%) which each farm automatically gets, we must times by 0.09 to get 1350.
And I must clarify with Ponti, as using that system it would seem that the slaves only effect one farm's income, not all of them, which seems silly (and anyway, 2 slaves to each farm is the same as 10 to 'five' farms, produces the same effect).
A messenger arrives bearing a message from Consul Cincinnatus
Greetings Decimus,
I would like to request you to join me in my camp for a meeting to discuss the current state of affairs in Rome and the disturbing news out of the east. There is a ship in Ostia sent from my fleet waiting for you, should you decide to join us.
Consul Cincinnatus
Consul Decimus reads the letter, then summons a fast messenger and Regulus, one of his most trusted servants. He gives a reply to the messenger, who sets off. Then he turns to Regulus.
"My presence has been requested by Consul Severus, however it would not be prudent for me to go at this time. You will go in my place. I have already instructed you as to my views on the current situation, and have trained you for such situations. Go with my full authority to speak my views, if another Senator has a disagreement with you being there, simply produce the letter I will give you. It authorizes you to speak in my place."
As Regulus nods, Decimus writes another letter and gives it to Regulus, who then bows deeply and departs, to the ship in Ostia.
A pretty female slave opens the door and leads Gnaeus to a room where the Consul sits, talking with some friends. After shooing them, he turns to the Senator.
"Ave Senator, I do not believe we have met."
Decimus chuckles at the mans words.
"A man is only great, my friend, when he acts upon that which needs acting upon, for the greater good, and through self sacrifice. By this definition, I am by no means greater than you, only my office affords me the respect you so readily give. I shall have a slave send for refreshments, whilst you lay out your proposal."
He sends off one of his slaves, who returns promptly with a selection of wine, some water, a fruit platter and a cheese platter. He munches on some fine grapes whilst he waits for the proposal.
One of Scipio's guards arrives with a woman slave and a letter.
I wish to met the Consul is he available?

Certaintly senator, i will lay out my proposal. I have heard it said that you are running for consul again this term, and i would be willing to offer you my support and my vote, on the understanding that it would be mutual, and that my bid for Quaestor would possibly gain one more vote. Senators need allies Consul and what i am proposing would be beneficial to both of us.
He took a handful of grapes and starts to eat them as he waits for the Senators reply.
Decimus, who was half through a glass of strong red wine, thought about the proposition.
"I do not make alliances rashly, Senator, I build them. Tell me, what would your plans be if you were made Quaestor? What sort of bills would you propose, what kind of spending would you support?"
Gnaeus thought carefully over his next words.
"I would support greater public spending Consul. Public relations are not at the best and Senators need the support of the people. Without the people what is Rome, a pile of bricks and mortar. With the support of the people Rome is a great city an oasis in the desert that is this world. It's walls untouched by war, yet to gain public support the people need to see the senators on their side providing them with with better oppurtunities, jobs, entertainment, a better way of life altogether. Many of the people see the senate as a group of wealthy individuals who have no support for them or their families. I would propose a bill whereby the people have the oppurtunity to have a voice in the senate, they can see us Senators helping them providing them with a voice. Only with the people are we truly great.
Decimus's smile turns into a subtle frown, undetected by Gnaeus.
"You would have the dignity and nobility of the Senate interrupted by masses? They have their Tribunes, and I can think of two bills for them which have passed in recent times. I am afraid to say that, unless you may convince me with your speech as the Rostra, which I will assume you will give, I am unconvinced that you are the best candidate for my vote."

Regulus disappears inside for a moment, then returns.
"Tell him it does."
Thank you, with your permission I shall leave now.
He then looks at the slave,
