Just bought this game and what to start playing it....?

Hi,

Having built a new computer in July, I have just bought this game in order to test my new rig...

Has the new patch destroyed all the previous work done by Darth?

Any suggestions to a newcomer in running this with sub.mods?

DMS works with the new patch, the new DLC units wont be balanced with the DMS units although Darth is working on this and will have a new version out soon to address this.

As far as sub mods go i reccomend the AUM (Aditional Units Mod), although it too is a bit out of date. Latest version is 2.4 beta 3. Make sure to get the DMS version of AUM. Again Swiss will have a new updated version out soon.

Hmm.. Guess I'll be waiting then... This mod - with addons - looks promising, seems to be the best one availible...

I'd go so far as to say essential, personally I can't imagine playing Shogun 2 without DarthMod now. There's lots of great mods being done by all the guys working to improve CA's rather meagre initial effort, but DarthMod is the real highlight for me. Keeps me up until 6am grinding out campaigns on a regular basis

Doesn't AUM cause CTDs after the new patch? (sure I read that in another thread)

i'd get the dlcs and then check out trom3 but i think i'd wait as the creator is working on making sure its compat with the new units + theres a new beta.

played darthmod+aum and toons all in-one and zen mod which are all excellent but i like trom3 the most due to its unit caps etc (p.s perhaps you can do darthmod+aum mod and use unit caps).

AUM has been fixed in the latest beta version so no it doesnt crash.

I use Darth Mod, Aum-Sho (Beta) and Toon's All in One. They work great together and provide a fantastic experience. I tried vanilla yesterday, it was underwhelming to say the least.

Trying vanilla is a good idea, makes you appreciate the mods you use so much more.

Downloaded and installed DarthMod, Toon, AUM and ZenModDARTH.

Noticed this: Unit cards were wrong for some units and my naganita and spear ashigaru's skins were messed up.

Ended up disabling Toon and ZenMod to get a unmessed game.

If someone knows how to use all the mods together please tell me how.

Follow the installation instructions carefully. Very carefully
