Default How to extract BC music

Hey I'm not sure if you guys enjoy listening to the music in this awesome mod as much as I do but I managed to extract it from the .dat file it was in. So now I can listen to it whenever I want.

I figured I might as well share this since other people might want to enjoy as well.

Full Disclosure- I'm running Windows 7 64 bit Professional Edition with UAC off.

    Step 1
Download the IDX Extractor located here:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...?do=file&id=32

    Step 2
Extract all the files to your desktop, or some other place where you know where they are.

    Step 3
You should have an "extract_sounds.bat" and an "xidx.exe" file among these files. I've found that these are the only 2 files you need for this. Copy these 2 files to where your BC sounds folder is.
    This should be Broken_Cresecent_kingdoms/data/sounds

    Step 4
    Run extract_sounds.bat

    Step 5
Assuming everything went well, you should have a new "data" folder in your sounds folder click through the various folders and at the end you will have all the BC music in nice mp3 format. Enjoy!

    *Various Bugfixes

If the extract sounds.bat file hangs while extracting
right click on it, click on "edit"
    Change
    Code:
    .\xidx.exe -x music voice1 voice2 voice3 sfx
    To simply
    Code:
    .\xidx.exe -x music
    Cheers

Off the top of my head, I know some of the tracks are collaborations Bill Laswell did with various tabla drummers, there are a couple by the Old Janissairs Band that works out of the Military Museum of Turkey in Istanbul, and I think the Anouar Brahem Trio.
