    Default The new DLC units

I'm kind of worried to be honest. I mean, I love the adding of the Takeda Fire Cavalry and the Long Yari Oda Ashigaru, but...

    Tokugawa Mounted Gunners?
    Bulletproof Samurai?
    Hand Mortar?

    EDIT:

    So they're perfectly historical.

IMO CA should ve taken more liberty when designing S2TW unit roster. The game isnt as realistic as people wanted it to be, why not add unique units to factions? The price is set right also, only 3USD not 5 like the last one.

The DLC should ve been great if its been released 2 months ago, when people was craving for more faction diversity. I'm waiting for a bigger DLC or expansion atm, not at all interested in a DLC merely adding new units.

Well I'm not sure why you would call them fantasy. There are records from the time period of cavalry using matchlocks for horseback. There was a special armour from the Sendai area that was made to be bulletproof. Hand mortars are also documented.

Hence my "rage" thread. Why Tokugawa? I mean there was accounts of bullet proof sendai armor, and even CA made Masmaune model wear it, and of course the mounted teppo unit involved the Date, though that one was really obscure.

Yes that will entail 2 units for Date as DLC.

If they are featured only wearing armor and fundoshi and waving katanas. I'm all in.

for 2 €, it's pretty good. They are all unique units and add something special to the clans.

They can deploy outside of their own area...they could be in clown suits for all I can and they'd still be awesome

I'm glad they made sure to give each clan something (I think they did at least)

The bulletproof samurai have spears Find them in the spear units section of the encyclopaedia.

I guess they would be too overpowered with katanas.

Who cares if they are not historically accurate, this is a video game.
Empire TW was stale when every unit looked the same, thank god they released that DLC.
I hope CA do not listen to the history buffs for Rome 2 TW and Medieval 3 TW (If they come out), those unique units for Medieval 2 TW and Rome TW were awesome.

Sorry for the cut and paste

plenty of people do. that's why for every TW game there's a crapload of mods concerned with historical accuracy. and they're usually the most popular (besides the ones fixing bugs and messed up mechanics that were left in by CA probably as "features")

i hope nobody listens to you. the historically accurate mods have way more awesome and more (quantitatively) units than vanilla TW. plus they actually existed in the timeframe. and they weren't silly screaming women or nuns with guns

Jack please thank the whole team in my name. STW2 is superb. The Ai is magnificent. And on very hard the game is a real challenge, even to a jaded gamer like me.

    Been a fan since i bought S1.

I love the new DLC. You know how the unit roster of the Ottomans in ETW looks with all DLC and add ons? Thats the kind of flavour i lie!

THANKS GUYS. Keep up the good work.

Ugh..is there any way to get this DLC from somewhere else than Steam? All I get is "not available for your region". I got the Ikko-Ikki DLC off Gamersgate but this one doesn't seem to be there...

Mmm i like the new DLC, just 1.99 euro for me through steam. Cheap cost for more clan specific units.
Makes playing as the various clans more different and interesting.

Still, wish they'd added 2 "unique" units atleast to the clans.

Takeda fire cavalry seems odd, its like a slightly altered yari cavalry version who got better chance in prolonged melee than the yari but at the cost of charge. (where's the famous ARMORED takeda cavalry that was said to be invincible until oda MATCHLOCK units annihilated them? the takeda cav bonuses hardly emulate this.)

And the description of the bulletproof date units "weak against ranged units" geh?

some "downsides" of the DLC but overall a much welcome addition as it'll creat more diversity.
Next i hope they specialise the clans strength more to further the differencies and "unique clan gameplay" but thats me.

    *sigh*

Don't buy the DLC if you don't like it. The units are pretty cool anyways. I just tested them out and I love them

They aint weak against range units, they are vulnerable to them. There's a difference!
