Default Was Julius Caesar the first Roman emperor? [Boustrophedon vs m_1512]

I will make my opening statement here either tonight or tomorrow.

Thesis: Julius Caesar, emperor or first man in Rome?

I will be defending the notion than Caesar was in fact not an emperor, but merely the first man in Rome. I believe he belongs to the line of First Men like Gaius Marius, M. Aemilius Scaurus, L. Cornelius Sulla instead of the line of emperors, Augustus being the first.

m_1512 disagrees and will be arguing that he was in fact an emperor
