and who would? If I got this correctly, Brandon and Rickard were immolated in Kings Landing and that leaves only Ned and Benjen and since the latter is in the Nights Watch, there is no other Stark than Eddard.

Benjen entered the Nights Watch after the War, he stayed in Winterfell all the Rebellion long.

i suppose to make the mod as accurate as possible you need to include those Royalists who belonged to rebel kingdoms but stayed loyal such as Grandison of Grandview , fell of felwood, cafferen of fawnton from the stormlands, Darry from the riverlands and Grafton of Gulltown from the Eyrie.

I was trying to think of a decent way to implement the "Neutrals" in the war i.e. frey, lannister and the iron islands but other than having them as their own factions (which doesn't seem that different from the normal game) I can't htink of one.

I'm thinking of a diplomatic "rope pulling" to get the Neutrals weight behind your cause, possibly shifting the tides of war in your favor

The problem with this will be that once you're winning, the neutrals will support you and the game will then be over pretty quickly. It'd make for a more challenging campaign if once you were WINNING the neutrals supported your enemies. Crazy logic but itd be more fun.

Other neutrals are represented by the traditional rebel faction.

Whilst this is a pretty radical idea it does support the essence of a civil war between two factions. It would also need a good area of recruitment system to keep all the existing factions units in use and it would prevent the campaign becoming the Stormlands getting mashed by Tyrell, Dorne and the Iron Throne whilst the North, and Vale sit doing nothing and the Riverlands start fighting with the Lannisters, which due to MTW2 is what would most likely happen. Just an idea.

Certainly possible, and making units AoR would mean, for instance, a Targaryen army recruited in the Riverlands would have Riverlands units.

Before making a decision on how to approach the faction list you should probably decide what you actually want to do. If you only want the war with two sides hammering on each other I think that Murfmurf's suggestion has alot of merit. If however you're looking more into a potential "what if" scenario with many more possible outcomes it could be a good idea to keep more factions so that these can act in an "unhistorical" way. For example maybe the Tully's remain loyal to the Targaryens or the Tyrells or even the Martells revolt or the Lannisters take a side early on etc. Such "what if" scenarios will be much less likely to happen if you have only two main factions and a one or two lesser ones.

Am i the only one who thinks the Velaryons should have a bigger part in the games?? I have been playing Joffrey mos t the time, adding me own general named A.Velaryon since its a cool house in my opinion. One of the still living eople from Valeria aight?!
