Hi mate not sure if this is anything to do with your mod but have been getting more than usual ctd's after a battle and one or twice on the campaign map, it probably a vanilla thing but thought i would mention it.

Mmmm. I have had only one CTD, and that was in campaign at battle load using a savegame battle loaded while game was running. But I have many mods running, and also 40 unit stacks which I think can be a problem with multiple reinforcing stacks in play. Whatever it was, I found that I could avoid the crash by loading the savegame after restarting the game afresh.

Thanks for the heads up. I hope that it does not prevent you from enjoying the mod/game.

I'm into a campaign using the NTW3 Barebones plus a full installation of LME2 and 40 unit stacks; I've had some really big battles and not a single CTD so far.

Very good. So how are you finding the game with 40 unit stacks and NT3 Barebones?

It's FANTASTIC! You've got wonderful visuals thanks to LME and a solid gameplay thanks to NTW!
I don't think I'll ever switch back to 20 units, 40 is waaaaaaaaaay better.

I've got a few questions to ask you though.
First, do you think that the larger deployment zones could help for better formations at the beginning of a battle?
Second, have you also changed the unit multiplayer?
And third, how can I change the movement speed and fatigue rates of cavalry? It's the only thing I dislike about the gameplay, I don't want to complain or be offensive but it feels like I'm moving a tank that's pushed by a horse that fatigues really fast; what changes would you reccomend me to do so that it's not out of place and most importantly how since I'm no modder?

It's possible the change the cavalry movement speed and fatigue etc. but the latter is stricky because several variables are involved. I can point you in the right direction, but first I would suggested you bear with it for a while. Vanilla and other mods are unrealistic - Horses don't run everywhere, they get tired (especially when ridden by equipped soldiers), keeping formation is hard for basic trained horses and means they moved quite slowlyand tired quickly, and if you look at history, the cavalry usually had one good charge... and then were largely spent. It's why attack timing, timely marched maneouvers, and initial placement are everything.
Keep playing and I believe you will expereince a much more realistic cavalry element - where timing your strike is key, you can't rush around the back to easily trick the enemy, artillery are hard to take out, and infantry are the mainstay of the action.

I use Lme and I love it.The problem with the names was before adding this submod. It works fine.I dont want to use the full Ntw because I miss the other good parts of Lme but I think that it will be nicer if the rates of soldiers will be a little lower because it will make it more realistic. The battle will last longer. In that age a battle last a couple of hours not 15-20 minutes. And I dont think that the quality of the firearms was so great as in Lme.I prefer that in the campaign to have a few huge epic tactical battles than many small battles. Can you help me and exmplain how can I control more than 20 units?

    Omji and Davsim,

I am delighted you enjoy the benefits of this mod!

    Ryo,

Glad you like the submod -yes it can be used with any mod when the submod files are placed at the top of the user.script. Remember that TROM 2 files (i.e. features) will be overwritten by corresponding NTW 3 ones. And please note that real Kudos goes to the NTW3 folks who created the files which I just "cherrypicked" for this little mod.

    Armand,

Make sure you have the LME2 set up correctly and no other text files from other mods left behind - you can only use ONE text file. Personally, I use the LME one but have added my own non-LME units to it. There is NO text file in this NTW3 barebones mod.

When using more that 20 units (I use 40), the interface is a challenge indeed. On campaign, you must split the 40 unit stacks in 2 in order to see all the troops therein. In battle, you can see the first 20 only (but that's always the general, cavalry and artillery which I find helpful at least); the others you have to click on the unit directly in-battle to activate. I believe there are keboard shortcuts that might help you too, but I don't use them.

    Gary,

I have had trouble with the sound files and stopped using them. I could hear the sounds you are looking for, but it created CTDs. So I am not using it. We have different symptoms but the same root cause, I think. Sorry that the file does not seem to work well as an add-on.

The FX files are other battle effects including battle sounds.

EDIT: Sound option removed because I am not satisfied with stability.
