    Default mods?

    Hey

i play M&B warband but i don t know what mod to play.

i would like to know :

what is the best fantasy mod out there?

what is the best historical mod out there?

i love all tools i can get to manage my own realm (treasury, diplomacy etc etc, all you can have to make a real managing simulation).

i m not a fan of firearms, but i can accept a mod with it.

    toughts?

that must be brytenwalda (sp?) atm
its the biggest and most curren tone out there

however the very recent version for m&b 1.4xx is baggy but playable.
if u ddint lift your warpath to the latest patch i d go with the older brytenwalda version

There isnt any fantasy mod pre-se, i guess aside from the wheel of time mod that has magic but that needs alot of work yet.

But for good non-historicial mods, the eagle and the radiant cross has to be one of the best mods flatout on both MnB and warband, blood and steel is also good.

and for multiplayer c-rpg >.> deployable ladders.

I assume it's for single player?

Popular historical mods are Brytenwalda (Dark Ages) (I make the scenes in that one, so I'm biased),

    and Hundred Years War

Prophesy of Pendor is a popular fantasy mod:

There are also some modern historical mutiplayer firearms mods, but I don't know them well.
China Battlefield, Finland at WWII and Vast Fields of Europe come to mind.

Sword of Damocles is a popular fantasy mod, but that is getting updated quite soon so I wouldn't download it just yet

1257AD is also a popular historical mod, but I think they're also going to update it soon.

You can find a way to get the latest SVN updates for it on the Taleworlds forum in its subforum. It's pretty stable and there is a hell of a lot added to it since the last official release including Freelancer.

Edit : New Sword of Damocles was released btw

I think they (1257) said they'll have a new official release in a few days, no?

    Prophecy of Pendor (fantasy).
It provides a good challenge throughout the whole game. It has quite some nice features. I don't like the 'powergaming' style of it though: You will be a high level, very strong character with special items in no time, but you will need it to defeat the enemies.

    Brytenwalda.
At the moment this is the best mod for me. I especially like that it is rather low-tech though, which is for one, very much fun, BUT this also means that end game is super-easy (you slowly gather good gear, but the AI armies stay crappy)

    Rus XIIIth century.
This mod is very good, details, textures, items, everything. The era and the nations (russians, polish, tartars, lithuanians) are not interesting for everyone. (for me it is )

    Don't fit anywhere:
    - Star Wars total conquest (in the time of the Rebellion, with possibility to join also the neutral Hutts)
    - 1866 Western (spaghetti western style on the US-Mexico border)
    - Song of Taliesin (not finished but playable, dark age Scotland)
    - Battle for Hindustan (just before the Tiger's conquest. not finished, vanilla map only, but very good)
